Hi guys,
Joined the club recently and was wondering if you knew where to get the plastics.
Tried the ones from Pinball center, they are crap... blue ain't green!!!

Quoted from fiberdude120:If you dont find one I believe I have a brand new set I would let go of,just let me know.
Well I would for sure be glad to buy it as I have no chance of going to expo, being om the wrong continent
Quoted from yzfguy:This fishtales is a keeper for me. First time I have ever sold a title and gotten one back again. I know not everyone likes powdercoating, and lots of folks don't like the coin door done, but I figured if I really don't plan on selling... Screw it. So I did what I wanted to make myself happy not caring about ever getting the money back or what the majority might like.
I'm really happy with the way the wireforms came out, and this color is a metallic that doesn't show up well in the pics. It is cool because depending on the lighting it looks darker or lighter. You can see in the one pic the lockdown bar appears to be a different color than the siderails. They match perfectly, it's the way the light catches it from different angles. I love this game, so much fun and never gets old for me.
Shout-out to robertstone0407 for a great job on the powdercoating.

Looks good!!
Where are the art blades from?
Quoted from yzfguy:Only available thru pps?
They are listed directly on CPR website
Hi guys,
Have started to disassemble mine for a good clean. The fish is really sticky; any known way to solve this?
Hi guys,
having an issue with mine;
the drop target latch was not wired.
I wired it, and now the coil that drops the target down is activating as soon as I switch the machine on. (I guess that's why the previous owner unplugged it...)
I changed the Q50 associated to it along with the diod; same issue.
Any idea?

Also changed the pre-driver. No change.
Should I swap the LS? :-s If so, which one is it?
Quoted from Neal_W:FYI - The drop target is supposed to be down at the start of a game and up after multiball.
If you use the coil test diagnostic, does that coil work or just stuck on?
well, now that I changed the transistor again (it was tested bad; looked liked it fried before I swapped the pre-transistor) it's now not activating at all.
In test it's not activating.
If I put the tab to ground, the coil works.
Have changed the diod, transistor, pre-transitors and both resistors.
It is better than before as it is not locked on anymore, but it's not triggering now ...
Quoted from yzfguy:Not sure if it has anything to do with this, but there is a setting in the menu that when set to "easy" pits it down at start of game, and "difficult" puts it up.
Unfortunately not It is a real issue.
Inkochnito: yes? Shout out
Quoted from Inkochnito:That would get us to replacing U4.
Which is a 74LS374.
Awesome, thanks for the info!
Did not find which U was linked to it
u4 changed : drop target down is now ok!
However that started 2 new issues that I don't get; both the right sling and center jet are now never activating.
When I pull them to ground, the coils activate.
Transistors are fine, continuity is fine.
Any idea? :-s
edit: center jet issue was no continuity between R74 and U4. Solved.
Still looking for the right sling issue
edit bis:
U5 changed by a new one, all continuity is ok all the way down from U5 to Q64...
And downward it's ok as Q64 to ground activates the slingshot
Hi guys,
Have been having an issue with my FT that I am finally willing to tackle.
It works flawlessly, except for one issue at a very specfic moment.
When in MB, and the caster's club has been hit, we aim for the jackpot. When I do, right when hitting the monster fish spinner, about 50% of the time the game will just instantly Tilt.
Tilt bob has been removed, behaviour stays the same.
There is something strange there that I really don't get.
Was thinking of a software bug, ordered a new Rom from the latest version, same behaviour.
Any idea?
Quoted from Roamin:I'm fairly new in the pinball world, but I saw the very informational video on shorted diodes and what could happen, triggering different switches, and how you make a box to identify them.
During multiball, and casters club is locked again, the ball that was locked is actually not waiting in the reel, but rather in the catapult, ready to fire. So the catapult switch is toggled at that moment.
You then trigger switch spinner.
I think you might have a shorted diode in one of those 4 switches in the image I posted. Spinner and Bob tilt are on the same line, and match that with catapult at the bottom that is closed. Probably why it only happens during jackpot shot.
edit: Actually the shorted diode should be out of 3 and not 4 possible switches , trough 1, catapult or spinner. These 3 switches are really abused in this game so it wouldn't be that surprising I guess.

thanks a lot for the feedback!
I actually found a screw in the jackpot saucer, I guess that was doing the short.
Removed it, tried like 6 multiballs, no tilt.
Will keep on doing some tests, but finger crossed that was the culprit!

After more testing: issue is still here and been completely pin-pointed but still no idea of what's causing it.
Nothing is shorting anything, all switches behave just fine.
So the tilt occurs if and only if: MB is ongoing, one ball has been drained, one ball has hit the caster club, other ball hitting the monster fish spinner
This one is so puzzling that I am wondering if it's not located on the mpu board?
Thx.
In test mode everything is showing up as it should and each of those switches behaves normally, but I'll check again and check also D3.
thanks for the link!
Quoted from Roamin:If in test mode you place a ball in the catapult, in trough 1 and you move the spinner halfway to trigger and hold the switch , does switch 14 (tilt) close on screen as well ?
nope it does not
I just tried and the fuc*** tilt switch never appears.
I am completely puzzled with this one, and as I am getting tired of it I just ordered a new MPU. Will report afterwards.

new MPU did not solve anything.
At least I have a spare one now just in case.
I am 100% lost here.
Nothing is acting weird in test, or in game except for this very specific issue....
