I believe on default settings if you drain after a jackpot it's up, you knock it down and it says something like 'tournament today, sign up now' then you can lock balls again.

Quoted from Metzu:Hi i want to join the casters club im planing on getting a FT its $1330 a good price?
Shoot, I'll take it if you don't want it!
Try reseating the plugs, you can confirm its 5v if you have a meter. If it is rebuild that section.. if you're not tech savvy odds are this will fix it
http://www.kahr.us/
Some people just aren't going to learn to repair. If you've never used a soldering iron and don't want to pay someone to fix it, I think the kahr is a great option. He also does a good job of explaining how it works on his website.
Not all hacks are bad. there are some great hacks out there, and if you want to call this a hack it's a pretty elegant one.
If you have an interest in learning i think the pin wiki has a good write up on chasing down the rebooting WPC problem.

Quoted from Ericpinballfan:Looking around on this thread.
How hard is that modification for lighted cast button on reel?
If you can solder it's cake. Get the stern tournament start button from pinballlife.
Quoted from GreenMachine19:I assume you have to order the lockdown bar version?
Yeah, part#

I got one, looks great. Only thing i noticed is a mis-alignment on the inlane/outlane switch holes on one side (didn't really concern me). besides that the clearcoat is thicker, and looks overall like they have stepped up quality since Taxi (my previous CPR)
Quoted from ttown:Its time to dump that Taxi. Its old and boring.. Its grandpa's Model T and a new Porsche needs to park in the garage. Pinside Market is here for a reason.
I'm thinking I'll cut up some clear plastic from the original plastics set to wedge in there and prevent a stuck ball... I totally missed it till placing the launcher ramp.
I think you could get some sheet metal from the hardware store and ball park it, if you have a rivet press. Probably won't be found anywhere unless someone is parting a game.
Quoted from Allibaster:This looks great. I might have to do this.
What lighting do you have in your pops?
I'm pretty sure these are what I put in.
Quoted from LTG:It might not be in the software, unless the wires are GI.
Go into Tests - Single Lamp - and scroll through them and see if there is one in there. If so hit the "+" or "-" diagnostic buttons to step through wire colors and connector info, because you'll need a diode on it if it's a feature lamp.
If the wires are GI, then no diode.
LTG : )
I've done the tournament button on at least 3 FT's. it's coded, maybe some aren't wired...

Anyone have art blades they really love?
I'm torn on what I should go with.. I like the flyland design, but the "fish tales" on the one side seems out of place and I worry the different art style might clash too much.. Thinking maybe the tilt graphics with water and empty boat is a safer play.
Quoted from oldskool1969:When you are not a fan of / or need HD on colour DMD, Pin2DMD works a treat and saves quite a bit of coin. Well here in West OZ any hoo.
the best game ever, just got a little better
[quoted image]
I like the pin2DMD color job much more on whitewater. I am running a name brand colorDMD on Fish Tales.
Weird, I’ve used a cheap switching power supply to power displays, the violet wires that run to the dmd board for generating the plasma voltages are ~100vac. Then you don’t draw power off the wpc system.
Quoted from mzhulk:I had the fish tales wording removed from the art blade cost me extra but looks good now
Pics? You just asked them to remove it? Cool.
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:It's been years since I sold mine, but I have this strange urge to get another Fish Tales
I'm on my third FT ride. The Urge takes over.
Quoted from gjm7777:Had a question around the long cast shot off the plunge, I currently have the game leveled at 6.5 but when trying for the long cast shot off the plunge, the left flipper is so strong I usually hit a post and get a nice airball - I assume this is common as so many of the right boat plastic pieces are busted in games.
I thought about maybe raising it to 7 to see if that helps, to be clear I can make the shot but it's gotta be perfect.
I think some of the non-rubber stuff is extra grippy, you might try different flipper rubber.
