Where the heck did monster fish come from he is cool.

#259 9 years ago
Quoted from Neal_W:

Got my project FT up and running reliably. I really like the topper, and the way it shakes the whole game. I did not expect that!
The video mode is cool as well, and I have never seen an extra ball in video mode. Don't want to miss that when it passes!
What a fun and fast game!

I get the extra ball all the time. As long as I hit a percentage of boaters the extra ball goes by for the kill. Perhaps your machine is set harder than mine.

#263 9 years ago
Quoted from ryanwanger:

I heard that it appears after you shoot 3 of each type (jetskis, speed boats, and big boats), but I haven't confirmed 100%. With a little practice, you should be able to get it every time.

I just went and played 5 games and as long as I hit 5 of anything in a row the EB came up.

#265 9 years ago
Quoted from ryanwanger:

Interesting...but even if you hit the first 5, it doesn't show up till towards the end of the round, correct?

Yes ,I believe that to be correct.

Who is the biggest liar in this group? Post a picture or it isn't true!</blockquo

I would tell you I beat that ,but I would be lying.

This is a great game and the price on these is reasonable compared to others.

Quoted from Mancave:

a new LED button on the shooter handle

Where did you get that from? It looks cool.

1 month later
#519 8 years ago

On mine I put on a rubber glove and with one finger pushed real hard on the bolt and was able to hold it while turning the torx side. It was tough on the finger but I got them out.

#535 8 years ago
Quoted from Pinballgeek:

What would you reccomend for the replacement flashing button for the caster ?

I just put one of these in that I got off eBay and I think it looks great.

Got the idea from Mancave

#537 8 years ago

Thats one decision you will have to make for yourself. Depends on the color of your caster.

#539 8 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

where do you get these lit buttons? got a link?

#547 8 years ago
Quoted from Mancave:

The new one works excellent and i can sink heaps more boats,

I use the flipper buttons for video mode,it works better than just one button.

#557 8 years ago

Same here I can sometimes make several long casts in a row.

3 weeks later
#603 8 years ago
Quoted from skywelker:

Anyone know where I can find a launch (cast?) button for the fishing rod handle on this game? I know they used several different versions of it during production, I'd really take any of them. Thanks!

You can have my old one if you want. There is nothing wrong with it I just replaced it with a lighted one. The extra one I have is the same as in post 521

#608 8 years ago
Quoted from CFoote:

For those of you on the CPR wait list for Fish Tales playfields....its in clearcoat now, I would expect we will be receiving emails soon. Good stuff!
Now if we could get them to repro the plastics set....
Chris

i think you can get them from Bay area amusements.

#610 8 years ago

Thats not really a play field plastic. It is a clear piece with a sticker on it.

1 week later
#634 8 years ago

I like the second one. They are all cool but i think the green goes better with the game.

#641 8 years ago

Green looks more like it belongs there.

Quoted from Mancave:

CPR playfields MUST be close to release, it's disappeared from the "pipe"

Yes, click on the home page for CPR and they are there.

#675 8 years ago
Quoted from CFoote:

I only gave it a two minute look and put it back in the box.

You should let it cure out of the box.

Quoted from megadeth2600:

Is anyone still waiting to hear from CPR about their Fish Tales reservation? I reserved mine a while ago and, I think, early on, but I have yet to hear from them. I know I have the emails that stated that I am on the list ... anyone else still waiting?

There a lot of customers waiting so just hang in there.

#718 7 years ago

Perhaps you can put two spots on one GI string and the other two on another GI string and that could take care of your overload.

#731 7 years ago

If anybody is interested I have a CPR gold playfield that I don't think I will be using. If wanted I will let it go for what I paid CPR plus shipping to you. Just shoot me a PM.

#733 7 years ago
Quoted from indypinhead:

CPR did a good job on the FT PF
I bought a gold one too

Yes they did it is beautiful.

3 weeks later
#740 7 years ago

I have read here on pinside that a couple of playfields have been swapped already and have worked out great.

Quoted from CFoote:

Anyone start installing their new CPR playfield yet? Should be a fun project, go slow and label everything.

Quoted from Ericpinballfan:

I just noticed from your angle of picture. Looks like switch cover is backwards, 180 that sucker so hard edge is facing player.

Yes his cover is backwards but I dont believe it has anything to do with the screws coming loose. A little locktite or crazy glue on the threads should work.

5 months later
#1337 6 years ago

I dont like them.

2 weeks later
#1380 6 years ago
Quoted from northerndude:

Got these in mail today!! Pumped! scared shitless!

Decals are easy to install. You do have to be sure that whatever you are putting them on is as smooth as silk or smoother. The smallest piece of anything looks like a boulder under a new decal.

Inserts look like they are starting to raise so I think $4000 is a little steep for this one. But when you do the cabinet over you may find a buyer.

Quoted from kechlesurf:

I picked up my Fish Tales several months ago but have yet to look into the Topper as all the lights work but the tail does not move. I have yet to really look into it but plan to look at it this weekend and i am hoping it is a loose wire or something easy, but any suggestions from the Club on common issues to get the fish moving again?

A lot of people unplugged the topper due to the noise it makes. I would check that first.

That shape probably 2K, maybe 2.5.

This is the figure. You'll find him from US sellers also I'm sure.
You can mod him how you see fit. Someone was selling them with LED eyes.
On a previous FT I had I mounted him behind the boat, and added a spotlight below him, tied in to the Monster Fish insert to illuminate him when Monster fish was ready. I liked it.

That one is 5 inches tall.

I believe this is it #31-1676-17

Quoted from RA77:

That's the one !
Thanks fiberdude120
Well the hunt for replacement does not look promising , can plastics be 3d printed ?

I have a brand new one but is it worth shipping half way around the world for a clear plastic?

3 weeks later
#2954 4 years ago

Its pretty short look around where ever it will reach and you will perhaps find where it goes.

1 month later
#3028 3 years ago
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

Quick question. I'm having some slight reel alignment issues. Upon inspection, I noticed the reel was able to spin freely by hand about 3/16 of an inch. The belt felt tight, so I dug deeper. What I see is the lower pulley that slides over the motor shaft has a "D" shaped hole in the center that is a bit loose. The lower pulley is free to wiggle on the motor shaft. So, should the lower pulley be nice and snug? Or have a bit of wiggle? Any help is appreciated.

I believe they should be nice and snug.

2 weeks later
#3067 3 years ago

What if we made a clear plexi just a tiny bit bigger and put it under. I know they make one for that but Im talking thicker.

#3083 3 years ago
Quoted from ghetoprobe:

Anyone happen to have a new Fish Tales plastic set they'd be willing to sell? Or a lead on an available set would be appreciated. I've checked the major suppliers and haven't been able to find a set instock. Thanks!

I have a partial set PM me if interested.

#3096 3 years ago
Quoted from monkeyboypaul:

Hi folks,
New owner - really lovely Lenc Smith playfield with a typically faded but otherwise perfect cabinet. Bizarrely has no Mylar anywhere on the playfield, but that’s not my question.
The little square metal flap at the boat crossover is raised slightly causing the ball to ‘hop’. Has anyone solved this in an elegant way? Was considering just a piece of Mylar to stick it down!
Thanks![quoted image]

Quoted from yzfguy:

I checked mine and I have that same screw in there. I was sure it would be a flat head but it is the same as yours. I think I would try adjusting the stand-ups that hold up the plastic ramps to see if maybe an adjustment there could tweak it so the flap sits level.

Just checked mine and mine has a flat headed screw and no extra holes. My flap sits nice and flat with no ball hop. Time to try adjusting and bending where necessary.

#3099 3 years ago
Quoted from mrboboto:

Any leads on playfields? I have a real beat up player's condition machine- I was going to slap down a decal and a playfield protector, but I kind of feel like with the work to get the protector on it's not *that* far away from just totally stripping it and replacing the playfield.

I have a brand new CPR gold that I am not going to use now. If interested PM me.

#3296 3 years ago
Quoted from Nihonmasa:

Hi guys,
Have been having an issue with my FT that I am finally willing to tackle.
It works flawlessly, except for one issue at a very specfic moment.
When in MB, and the caster's club has been hit, we aim for the jackpot. When I do, right when hitting the monster fish spinner, about 50% of the time the game will just instantly Tilt.
Tilt bob has been removed, behaviour stays the same.
There is something strange there that I really don't get.
Was thinking of a software bug, ordered a new Rom from the latest version, same behaviour.
Any idea?

Check and make sure nothing on the monster fish spinner is grounding out anywhere. I had a problem on mine where when in one of the modes when I would hit the boat it would tilt. I had just replaced the boat and it was a grounding issue with the switch diode.

Quoted from Veemonroe:

I’ve now bought a 3/8” mini-post rubber (correct size is 7/16”) on the internet in the hope that solves the problem, but I’m worried it doesn’t fit over the post.

I think you should check the size and thickness of your sling rubbers also. They look too fat to me.

Go to the pet/fish store and get some aquarium weeds and put them in there. It makes it look like the fish is swimming through them.
