Thanks guys, would it be good to send all boards to someone that can rebuild them/put them up to date?
Is it costly?
I can’t do that myself.
Thanks for the quick help.
Any idea on the 5th ball?
hi guys,
if i want to install stern tournament button on the reel, which one do i have to purchase from pinball life?
lockdown bar one or cabinet one ?
Quoted from Micky:Why do you want to install a stern tournament button on the reel?
To do this!

I saw that from a previous pinsider. He made it
Someone good with photoshop can do something like that quite easily
Anyone purchased pyle speakers from amazon or other vendors to install on their fishtales backbox\sub.
Trying to upgrade my stock setup but would like to keep cost low.
Quoted from mIkea:Yup- put some Kicker 5-1/4” and an 8” Pyle in my TAF- they sound great. Bought more fore FT.
Got any exact model? You purchased in amazon.ca ?
Quoted from Riefepeters:I put some 5.25” Kenwoods in that were $32 recently on Amazon (you’d have to drill the right hole larger or buy a new panel for $30). I did it more for aesthetics with speaker lights, the sound is probably better but I’m not an audiophile

Rom purchase?

Do i need to purchase sound u18?
My machine is all oem and doing a full restauration
Thx again for the help
Colored wire forms? Whats your take on them?
Blue? Green? Orange?
Id like to see some recent restoration pictures if possible.
Im planning on powdercoating ext part gloss black.
Cabinet is under prep right now by my restoration friend.
Quoted from jawjaw:Painted wireforms look terrible imo. Hurt resale value, too.
Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:I would agree. There are enough colors on the playfield as it is. No need to add more with the wireforms.
I'd say that's why they're a neutral chrome.
And please don't do it just because it sounds like something fun to do to your game.
Mine are very rusted, this is why i was thinking of getting them powdercoated.
what are my other options? Paying couple hundred to get them chrome ? Buy new ones?
Pop bumper color choice?
All blue? All teal? Colored lol ?
I dont want all red
Game will be fitted with brian allen translite and art blade.
All gloss black powdercoated parts.

Nice job
Where did you get that little van with sticker in the back?
Quoted from Pinkitten:Thanks. I found that on EBay. I was looking for a little fishing boat or something and I saw that. It reminded me of the monster fish. I figure that’s the delivery truck for all the monster fish I catch.
thx, i found it
is the monster fish all 5'' ?
is it too big for the game?
care to take pictures and give us more info: I did the rod and reel mod with the blue led wire hooked to the reel flasher.
My good friend lou is doing the restore.
I will keep the protector as i have it in my restored tftc and roadshow. Also have it on getaway(next restore)
I kinda like it.

Very bad.
Quoted from whthrs166:I have protectors on a few of my games also. But not FT. The only concern I have for FT is the orbit switch. It took a lot of tweaking to get that switch to work perfectly. A protector would be back to the drawing board for me. My MM plays better with the protector. Fewer bounce outs of Merlins Hole, my orbit switches are dead nuts everytime ( not so before installing the protector. Can’t really explain why though) and much smoother ball action over the Troll doors. Lots of air balls in that game and I don’t have to worry about pf damage as a result. I know tournament type players hate protectors and I understand that. They should. But I am not tournament player (mostly because I don’t have the skills)
Quoted from whthrs166:Looks good!
thanks, my friend lou is doing a perfect job.
it's crazy how much money you can spend on a resto lol
mirco playfield
mirror rad cals
pf protector
new plastic set
new dmd panel
color dmd
speaker kit
titan
comet
brian allan backbox and artblades
etc etc
Quoted from TheOnlyest:Pinball spare parts austrailia (PSPA) claims to have all 3 caster plastic decals in stock. Marco has the 4th as part of a set.
Thx, ended up buying everything at pinball center.
Quoted from TheOnlyest:That part # is for the motor/gearbox assy. Marco has it.
my bad, thx!
Quoted from Pinkitten:The finished beer cooler!

Damn, cool idea

My friend lou finished my FT resto
Cant wait to get the game at home and play it for the 1st time.
I have a NOS apron coming as well. Old one will be for sale.

Hey guys
Just got back my FT a couple days ago from a full resto.
I have an hard time keeping the ball in caster club for ball lock. Quite often, i shoot it and it goes back.
Could it be that my game is too inclined and the ball goes in too quickly? Game is super fast.
Also, while playing, the sound will completely shut down. I can still play but no sounds.
I then have to restart the machine and sound is back. I reset chips and ribbon cables. Any thought?
Thx
Quoted from yzfguy:There is a black drop target kinda tucked up in front of it that sends it back if the settings allow.
Drop target is always down i think?
Quoted from yzfguy:If so, I'd make sure it is retracted all the way and not sticking up a little interfering with the ball. (And re think my setting choices )
its sticking up a little but i looked under the pf and dont have any clue on how to lower it? Do you have a picture you can show me?
Are you saying from factory the drop target should always be up? If so, how do i do that?
Thx again
Quoted from Roamin:OK, I wasnt aware difficult would start the game with it closed. Must it be hit twice then as well? Or only after a jackpot?
Here's the w wire I'm talking about.
[quoted image]
I think mine is missing
Do you have the part number? Is there any additional parts i need to purchase to hold it ?
Anyone can point me on some stuff to check
While playing, all sound will stop. I need to restart the game to get the sound back on.
I have a new sound rom and all new ribbons cables. My pin just got restored.
Possible thing to check?
Also, sometimes, a 2nd ball will eject. But, im not sure why. What can i check?
Quoted from GRUMPY:This happened on my game and I cut the pink crimp-on connectors off of the wires at the cabinet speaker and soldered the wires directly to the speaker. Never had another problem since.
I have a brand new speaker kit installed from pinballpro
You think that could be it?
Quoted from Paseb:I have sound issue cutting, making buzz sound while playing.
Where can i start?
anyone?
i could also start the game and there will be no sound at all.
I Removed my ft sound board and i put my getaway soundboard in it and had no more sound.
I said fine, i will swap back to the ft soundboard and still no sound.
ps: i had sound prior the removal
I do hear hum sound from speakers.
My head is spinning.
Quoted from Lostcause:Stumblor does the Afterglow boards, I swapped the OCD board on mine for one after comparing them. Must have used nearly 20 Afterglow boards now.
Is it me or i cant find them for sale?
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:New GC score Saturday night. 3 balls per game, Lightning flippers. I switched from Titan flipper rubbers to Superbands and did this just a few games thereafter.
[quoted image]
honestly, i suck at fishtales lol
my top is like 50 000 00
the game is just brutal and the ball goes so often in inlane... i dont know if im doing something wrong
Quoted from yzfguy:If you're losing the ball from the inlane, yes, you are doing something wrong!
Inlane or outlanes?
The ones further left/right hehe
Sorry french here
sold my Fishtales and I have a brand new set of cliffy protectors available.
The complete kit without the flipper enhanced guides.
Asking 60$ usd + shipping
