So check this out, fishing rod plastic!!! I’ve been working on this for 2 days. First part off my fixture would of worked in a pinch, second part looks way good! Refining my program and about to cut the third part.
Thicker material than the original.

Very cool!

Too bad its not an operations manual... The only one on ebay right now is stupid overpriced.

Quoted from Pinkitten:

Beautiful restoration. It’s so awesome to see these classic pins restored to like-new. That cabinet is incredible.

Thanks

#4357 2 years ago
Quoted from Pinkitten:

Does anyone smarter than me know what’s up with that? Do we have an embargo with Germany or they with us? Do they think American pinball people are stinky? I thought we was alies with them folks. Why they won’t ship to me?

Check this forum for info on how to use pinball center to ship to the USA. (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/german-mail-forwarding-workaround-for-pinball-center)
Basically you need to use a service that will receive your order and then ship to you. I created a free account at mailboxde. I can update in a week or less with how my order goes I just placed.

You can also get someone in another country to deliver to and then they ship to you. Basically you end up paying a whole lot for shipping.

Hey guys... question/poll...
I just finished restoring a thrashed & hacked Fish Tales and I have a curious thing... The game has the gen1 Fliptronics board in in, but the flipper switches in my game are old school leaf switches, not the opto style.
There is no evidence that the game didnt come this way from the factory... There are plugs in the harness for both types (opto board connectors are just hanging in the cab), and there are no vacant screw holes where opto boards once were.
All the manuals show opto boards controlling the flippers, and both flippers work just fine the way they are, so I dont really see a point in upgrading to opto's unless my game is the only one on earth set up like this.

Anyway, i'm curious if there are some variations on this, or is my game just from another planet?

#4360 2 years ago
Quoted from TheOnlyest:

Lucky you! They wont ship to us losers here in the USA anymore.

Maybe that works for you: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pinballcenter-parts-needed

Quoted from Pinkitten:

Or yellow with green rubber! Looks like part of the fish then!
[quoted image]

That´s what I like most and have on my machine as well

#4362 2 years ago
Quoted from TheOnlyest:

I see there is an unused 3 pin connector near each flipper on my FT.

Those are for the leaf type switches, so obviously your game has opto switches, so those are unused in your game. Thanks for the feedback!

Hello everyone.

I'm super excited to be new to the club and to find ourselves a diamond in the rough.

This beauty was found in an abandoned house. I hope to do a full (or close to full) restore on it in the coming months.

Wish me luck! lol

P.S. I spent a few hours and tons of elbow grease on cleaning up the right side of the cabinet artwork. I don't think they look too bad... a little faded but not terrible.

Owners usually remove the topper when it hits the ceiling. I guess they felt the topper was too cool to remove or they couldn't find a security torx.

Didn't even notice that. That is awesome.

Seeing how they left it behind in the house when they vacated, my guess is they probably didn't know the legs could be removed, or that the head could fold down.

And the power cord welded to the outlet.

I couldn’t help but post a sneak preview. My hardware is finished, powder coated and clear coated by Steve @ Pinball Refinery. Black with sparkle that changes color with different light. Looking forward to installing everything!

Yep, a collector friend of mine said same thing. I hadn’t thought of that, but it does resemble a trout! That’s fitting.

Does anyone know where I can buy a D6 ROM and get it fairly quickly? My game has P-4 in it, and I think it has a glitch.

I always order from Matt's basement and usually get it in 3-4 days.

Getting ready to join the club with a pinside purchase, but have a question about the brown connector in the bottom right of the below photo. It seems this can't be the original connector. Does this look like damage to anyone or just a replacement connector of a different color? Input and insight deeply appreciated.

Looks like a replacement connector. The OEM connectors were white/natural with paint on the side of the connector (painted on raised ribs) which was a color code for the wire gauge. Replacement versions are color coded plastic bodies. I've bought replacements from Marco that looked like that.

Whew. That's a relief. Thanks so much. Looking forward to joining the club, with a purchase lined up within the next few days. What a great title this is. Thanks for such a fast reply!

I wouldn't worry about the connector. Even if the replacement was bad/burnt it's a pretty simple/basic repair. Nothing to worry about.

I would inquire to see if the Header Pins were also replaced when the connector was replaced/rebuilt.

If they were not, I would replace them when I had the chance. Always best to do both at the same time.

Couldn't the decal image be scanned? (Not to sell, just to give away free with purchase of the plastic )

Just picked up an FT today and it also has that ACCEPTED sticker in the bottom of the cabinet, as pictured above. Can anyone give insight as to what that means? Imported and converted to 120V?

#4395 2 years ago

The sticker with model and serial number that's located inside cabinet and also on back of cabinet will show voltage as 230 if its export also coin door on export is different . I think the accepted sticker is from cabinet manufacturer
