Quoted from CFoote:P-4 was most likely a prototype ROM hence the potential for the reboots...or bad chip....whatever it was, I am glad its fixed for you!

Quoted from Kas24:Look'n for a topper. Any one have any hits..
You can piece on together online. Fish here, plastic topper there, decals here, knocker there.
If you go back in the thread, two guys just made them

Marco has the fish and the shell decal in stock, they are currently out of the topper dome but keep an eye out as they will get more and sell out in a week or so...

Quoted from Soulrider911:I think my neighbor officially has the coolest mailbox
They are very cool I have seen them for sale before and always thought about doing something like that.
I love the "corporate beer" sticker based on the Golden Road logo on the mailbox. It's perfect now that they're part of Anheuser Busch!
Can anyone attest to these cab decals? They are the cheapest I've seen, but cheapest doesn't always mean best.

Does anyone have a new or used Reel part - 03-8612 that they would be willing to sell. If you have ever taken the reel assembly apart, there are 3 studs that go into the pulley which in turn the belt drives. My reel is missing one of the studs. I think it will work OK, but I fear another will break off.

I just had mine all apart, cleaned, rebuilt. I had one stud missing also, I feel it shouldn't be an issue. I don't think there is much torque on it, just my thoughts anyway
Thought I would share some pics from a restoration I just finished, too many new parts to list. I am waiting on the reel handle for the ball shooter, it should be here this weekend. I also need to screen print the backbox warning.

Anyone need a used playfield in great condition, I cleaned it up best I could and sanded and re-cleared the shooter lane.

Cosmo, where did you get new cab decals? Just picked up a new FT but the artwork is basically white now, so trying to decide on a decal, there are a couple different options out there.

Mine came from Retrorefurb.com

Thanks, what are your thoughts on them? Good material, good coloring? Do you like them, love them, hate them? Any complaints?
Bugsy I have done 3 cabinets with RR decals they are great. They use super high-quality automotive grade vinyl. This allows you to use a heat gun to basically clean up any and all imperfections and help the bond. I'm a huge supporter they are great and very accurate to the originals.
cosmokramer thing is a work of art great job. Sadly I tried to fire mine up today, no go... there was some wiring hackery on this thing and I have a feeling that is the cause. At this point its out of my skill range so a local tech is coming out Tuesday.

Indeed, and I wasn't not taking your advise into consideration, just always good to have a second opinion.

I agree with Soulrider911
... the decals are high quality and easy to work with
Here is a side by side with the new ones from RR and my unfaded original...not perfect but pretty close...

The biggest difference is the blue in the bubble, but still acceptable
I will be starting a restore soon also. I dont see any pinball parts for sale at retrorefurb.com. Is this the correct website?
How do they compare to the next gen ones from Bay area?
I missed the s apparently. It is retrorefurbs.com, but they don't have Fish Tales decals on their site currently.
Quoted from Soulrider911:FT I picked up for my buddy last night, he's now part of the club
.. and none of the typical fade. I see from the coin door that it's German reimport like mine. Fish on!

What's a new in box CPR gold, playfield worth? Trying to decide if I should use the one that came with my game or just sell it...
Quoted from Soulrider911:badamack I bought a gold a few months ago for I think around 900.00,
Yeah that sounds about right. Over here they ended up being about $1450 but of course shipping is over $300 and the conversion rate is a killer too
Does anyone know of a source to get good quality set of slingshots with proper colors? The ones I purchased from CPR (plastics set) - the blue is way lighter than it should be.

BAA has them, I got some but did not installed yet. From my memories they were fine.
Hey, fellow fish tales owners I need your help. Fish tales opto issue, here is the topic: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/fish-tales-reel-opto-issues
Hi there fish tales club! Looking to get in on this fun game,
I'm looking at a project F.T. here on the weekend or next week, are there and super hard to get parts? Where are the main wear areas to look at? Any game specific things to look out for when I'm having a look at it?
Thanks

The playfields wear around the center fish insert edges and the mini playfield fish inserts clear coat and decals wear off. Often the cabinets are faded. None of those really affect play, but count against the resale value.
Some have mentioned that the fishing rod metal reel handle for the shooter is not available. (only the left half is available) Considering it is 26yrs old, you can find a fair amount of parts for it.
Agreed, check the 4 center fish inserts for wear and make sure they are not raised. See if fish topper and dome are in place and working. If not working first check to see if the connection is plugged in, top left of the back box.
Hey all, happy 4th east coast nor-eastern in the last month. So i had some time today to go ahead and replace J120 since it was burnt up pretty bad. I used the newer style molex connectors and pins from GPE but the string of back box lights they control are still out. I checked all the fuses and none are burnt out. Can anyone recommend a next step?
If this would be better posted in the tech section, please advise.
Thanks in advance.
MJS
Just follow the wire from the wire string on back box back to the connector and test for voltage when its powered on. Or if you have the manual, find the wire color and test that, I had 1/2 of my backbox lights out and I found a crappy punched down wire on a connector and re-punched it better.
Thanks dude... started following the wires and realized that some of the lights on the green/white green and brown/white brown were on and some were off rather than an entire single string. Adjusted a bulb and poof, it came on, about 11 of the new LEDs needed to be adjusted and they came on. It was like magic, but real!! My first connector / contact rewire was successful after all. Its the simple things in life.
Follow-up, how important is it to insert the plugs into the N/A ports on the connector where there is no pin on the board. I believe its only 1 on the J120?
Thanks again.
It won’t matter, its the “key’d” one. If
You leave it out, it will be easier to distinguish the difference if you have multiple connectors out at same time.

It won’t hurt your game at all to leave it out but I’d suggest keying the plug if you can at all. I’ve bought so many project pins that have been damaged by plugs that weren’t keyed being put in the wrong spot.
