bought mine from Joey and Pinballdecals.com for a full restore. he is a great guy and provides great service. Although a do think Joey is a reseller for Planetary Pinball as they own the licensing so you may run into same supply issue. Also, when you apply the front coin door decal make sure you center the yellow circle on the start button...I learned a hard lesson on this one!
Quoted from goggleloy:Bought mine from retro refurbs
I just bought a BSD and TOM set from Retro Refurbs but this has me worried as I can see a big difference in color between the "Next Gen" version I bought and the Retro Refurb version for Fish Tales at least.
The "Next Gen" decals have the wrong colors.
If you look at the blue in the water, it's far too dark and also their orange sunset is too light. Compare the photos of our version posted above to photos of an original cabinet on IPDB: http://ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=861
Our colors are correct. Next Gen is not.

Really? Your baseing your information off a photo of someone's random game ?

I've seen the decals myself, Fish Tales and other NextGen.

Just for the record, I bought some "next gen" Dr. Who head decals, and the colors were off, as well as the art work, so I didn't even use them. I'm now leery of buying any next gen decals. I miss the old screen printed art.

Although I have not had any issues with nextgen art, I am not saying there may not be issues with some. I also prefer screen print cabinet art. I personally feel it is slightly more difficult to work with but you have a better chance of colors being correct. I am just questioning the statement being made that retros is the correct version.

I do them, fully licensed by williams

Licensed doesn't mean quality tho.

I will agree to this statement ......partially. If in fact a product is licensed, it has a much better chance of being "Quality". Products licensed have access to information non licensed products don't have such as original process, art files ,industry standards and if lucky spot color. If the said reproduction manufacturer is physically able to,(and chooses to) reproduce these standards. there is a great possibility the end result will match.
I just want the color and art of the decals to match the original screen printed designs 100%. I simply want a brand new out of the box stock look when I restore something. That's all I want. It doesn't seem to be too much to ask, lol.
Retro refurbs looks much better than next gen in my opinion. I don't like the decal texture of the nex gen products
Quoted from northerndude:Bringing this back to life a bit, sniffing around for FT cabinet decals, don't necessarily want the "next gen" ones, I don't readily see the retro ones online, anyone know of a good set for sale?
Contact retro directly to verify. Could be they have the decals.
I looked at Retro and their not even showing Fish Tales decals on the website. Does anyone have the vector graphic artwork or know where I can get it for the decals so I can get them printed myself?
