Always wanted to own a machine. Now am able to do it, just started looking and researching. I have been blown away at how cool the current machines are, and can't wait to get one.
Some quick background. Want a fun game to add to basement entertainment room. Have 4 kids under age 10. Grew up reading comic books.
Doubt that I would ever resell, maybe add another game at some point.
Thinking X-Men pro for the following reasons:
1 - X-men was my favorite comic. Love the art and look of the machine. Don't really like the look of the side art of the LEs, and doubt that the actual differences makes up for $2,000 cost difference for me. Would rather not pay more than $5,000 for a game. If you asked me for a preferred theme for the game (prior to knowing what existed) this would have been right up there with maybe Anchorman (though I am sure that would have some challenges remaining family appropriate)
2 - Did not like the Avengers movie. If it was just the comic art characters would have much more interest. Other games like Ironman and Spiderman that I would be interested in are not readily available and seem to be in excess of $5,000 used.
3 - Would rather stay with a NIB for first game since I have no experience with fixing games.
Some questions:
1 - What kind of time frame do you think I have to pick one up? Are they going to become scarce soon? or is it possible that I can pick one up later in the year at a reduced price?
2 - Are prices negotiable with dealers? or are advertised prices generally firm? A little over $4,700 seems to be the going rate on the internet.
3 - Is there a searchable database that I can use to find different games locally to try and play before buying?
4 - If Xmen pro is the mirror image of Tron, why is there such a difference in opinion on this forum (Tron seems to be largely loved, and Xmen seems to be pretty split).
5 - Any other advice that you would give to someone to buying their first game would be appreciated.
Thanks for your assistance.
