Delaware's first ever, and highly anticipated Critical Hit pinball tournament is now open for registration. The date will be 9/22 at Chad & Marianne's house in Magnolia. Tournament format will be similar to other First State Flipper events with the exclusion of a "C" division finals. All spots need to be reserved using the normal Paypal method. Limited to 32 players. See below for all the details, and also check out the Facebook Event page. Tournament info was just submitted to IFPA, so it's not been approved by them yet, but it WILL be IFPA sanctioned. This tournament has NO BEARING on the Delaware Tour Championship.

What: 1st Ever Critical Hit Pinball Tournament (LIMITED to 32 players)

Where: 147 Paysan Lane, Magnolia, DE (Chad & Marianne's house)

    When: September 22nd, 2018

Time: Practice at 11am. Practice ends at 12:30pm. Announcements, questions, open discussion will run from 12:30pm to 1pm. Official start time of the tournament will be 1pm.

Cost: $25 (of this, $5 will go towards expenses, $1 IFPA fees, and $19 towards prize fund. Trophies will be deducted from the prize fund)

Format: 3 or 4 player group match play. Minimum of 7 rounds. Games and positions will be selected each round via D20 roll with a Critical Hit(roll of 20) earning both game and position selections. Top 16 will then advance to the finals. PLEASE NOTE THAT SUBTLE CHANGES TO THE FORMAT MAY TAKE PLACE BEFORE THE EVENT BEGINS.

Every player will receive 2 random cards at registration. Additional cards earned through "bounties" on each game. Other methods of earning spell cards TBA.

Will you save your cards for finals, or use them to get yourself into the finals?

DISCLAIMER - I ask that everyone that signs up for this event come with an open mind and focus on having FUN FIRST AND FOREMOST. Yes, I know WPPR's are at stake, but with this being the first time running this format I'm sure we will have some challenges and possibly some decisions made that could be the wrong decisions. Hopefully none of this happens, but we should err on the side of caution. Pretend you are coming to a Dungeons & Dragons or Magic the Gathering event that just happens to have some pinball machines!!! Lastly, I encourage anyone who is attending to read over all of the Match Play cards beforehand, as well as the game rules. The more that we ALL know, the better.

I can see issue with the cover the display one.
What is it's an dmd game?
and what if some plays out of turn say they got an valid playfield but did not know they did or the other way think they got one but did not.

Players are able to request a TD to verify player number. This generally isn't an issue though from past tournaments. As long as EB's are off, there shouldn't be too much confusion. You can also disable ball saves.
