Major announcement just released from First State Flippers. Please check out Facebook for more details.

EDIT - Facebook has locked my account again. I'll repost the big announcement on here later tonight. Sorry for all the stupid FB issues.

    #6 6 years ago

OK Pinballers, here is the abridged version of the major announcement I have been trying to spread to the masses for the past 3 days, however Facebook has not been kind and keeps shutting my account down for some odd reason due to "suspicious activity".

First State Flippers was created to help promote and to make pinball more prevalent in the State of Delaware. Tournament Director, Chad Hastings, is on a mission to make Delaware a pinball hotbed and in doing so one of the first steps in this process is the creation of the Delaware Tour Championship. We believe this end of the year finale will help put Delaware on the map as a formidable place to come play pinball in some of the best tournaments around the Mid-Atlantic area and we hope the players will agree by showing their support. Below we have some information that is ready to be passed and some of the finer details of the Tour Championship will be fleshed out over the next few weeks.

*Delaware will be hosting a minimum of 6 events this year with 3 events already planned (March, April, and June).
*Each event will award "tour points" to all places
*At the end of the year we will have a "Tour Championship" finale tournament with the date to be determined
*These "tour points" will be accumulated across each of the main events with the top 32 qualifying for the "Tour Championship"
*ONE STIPULATION will be put in place for the "Tour Championship", and that is any player wishing to advance to the "Tour Championship" must play in at least 3 of the Delaware events
*For each of the 6 events in Delaware, $4 per entry will be removed and put aside for the "Tour Championship" finale
*The "Tour Championship" finale will have a $20 entry fee, with 100% of the entry fees returned to the "Tour Championship" prize fund
*The "Tour Championship" prize pool has been estimated to be around $1500
*The "Tour Championship" will pay out the top 4 places at the finale event
*The "Tour Championship" overall winner will be looking at a first place prize of around $800
*The "Tour Championship" second place finisher will be looking at a prize of around $350
*The "Tour Championship" third place finisher will be looking at a prize of around $200
*The "Tour Championship" fourth place finisher will be looking at a prize of around $150
*The "Tour Championship" prize numbers are based off of an average of 36 entries for each of the 6 events being held in Delaware
*The "Tour Championship" is NOT AN IFPA CIRCUIT TOURNAMENT
*The "Tour Championship" finale tournament WILL NOT BE IFPA SANTIONED
*The "Tour Championship" has nothing to do with the Delaware State Championship Series tournament

Below are some numbers for everyone to see that helps show what First State Flippers is bringing to the tournament pinball scene. NOTE, all numbers are based on 36 entries for each of the 6 events. These numbers could go up or down based on participation.

-$7500 in total fees collected (not counting the Tour Championship)
    -$216 total IFPA fees collected
-$864 prize money collected for the "Tour Championship"
-$1080 total expense fees (food, beverage, etc. for each tournament)
-$5340 total prize fund money to be spread across the 6 main tournaments (trophy fees will come out of this number for each event)

Lastly, First State Flippers wants to start helping support the yearly winner of the Delaware State Championship Series by providing them with a donation of some sorts that will try and help cover some of the airfare and hotel fees accrued when going to Vegas for the National Championships. In order to give back, First State Flippers will be conducting a 50/50 raffle at each of the 6 events with 50% of the proceeds going to the winner number and the remaining 50% put aside for the Delaware State Championship Series winner. We are here to make pinball great again!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you in advance for helping support Delaware pinball!

    Sincerely,
    Chad Hastings

    #17 5 years ago

A big thanks to all 46 people for attending today's event. Again I hope everyone had a blast yesterday. Congratulations to all of the winners as well!! We had lots of new faces collecting cash at this event and once again we had 8 new players attending a Delaware Pinball tournament!!! Event #3 is on 6/9 in Middletown, DE at Joe Fox's house and that event is sold out. Don't forget that registration is now open for events 4, 5, and 6. Send in your deposits ASAP to reserve your spot! Lastly, IFPA results should be submitted tomorrow, we had a problem trying to submit them tonight.

Also, I want to make sure everyone that participates in a First State Flippers tournament is fully aware of the breakdown of the money received for the tournament. I want everything to be transparent.

As mentioned before, $4 from each entry paid is being set aside for the prize fund for the "Delaware Tour Championship" that will be held after the original 6 events are completed. We collected $184 from the April Affray event and that now brings the total after 2 events to $344.

We also held another 50/50 raffle drawing during event #2. The purpose of the 50/50 raffle is to take half of the proceeds and put that aside for the winner of the Delaware State Championship Series. First State Flippers will help "sponsor" the winner of the SCS and whatever money we take in from the 50/50 will go to that person to help cover expenses, flight, lodging, etc to attend the Nationals in Las Vegas next year. We sold $125 in 50/50 tickets with Chris Chow being the winner and collecting $62.50. That left $62.50 being put aside for the SCS winner, although I added 50 cents to make it an even $63. After 2 events we now have $132 collected from the 50/50.

Final overall results are posted below. In addition to that I have updated the Delaware Tour Championship standings and posted those results as well. Currently Koi Morris is our #1 seed after 2 events. PLEASE REMEMBER that in order to qualify for the Delaware Tour Championship you have to attend 3 of the 6 events PLUS finish inside the top 32 after all 6 events are completed.
