I'm working on a beat-up WCS, my first project. I've got the playfield stripped and looking decent and vacuumed out the cabinet. I even found a local guy to powder coat parts and I'm having the coin toss brackets, ramp and legs redone in gold.
I've got a few questions -
I'm using Radio Shack .22" diameter 62/36/2 rosin-core solder for soldering. It feels like it's a little too thin for resoldering wires but my soldering skills are pretty remedial. Am I using the right solder?
Pulling stuff off of the playfield hasn't been too bad. I'm intimidated about pulling everything off of the underside. I've pulled some of it off (troughs) but most everything is still on. Is that a big deal?
I've read that the coil sleeves should be taken apart and the sleeves replaced. Is that a big deal? I haven't pulled any apart to see the condition.
