So I just got my first pin - Big Hurt. I am curious to see what are some things you all recommend doing (eventually) when you get a new pin? As far as cleaning it, settings, upgrade type things, etc...it is in good condition but not perfect. I am completely new to this.

Thanks for any advice!

Start making room for more pins, they tend to multiply fast!

Level it out properly, wipe down the playfield and wax it if needed, put in new balls if the old ones are pitted, change the batteries over if the previous owner hasn't changed them in the last 12 months or so.
People will joke that you can't have one pinball machine but it's actually true.

Rebuild the flippers. Replace coil sleeves. Replace old bulbs, maybe get LEDs. Get a Frank Thomas action figure and baseball card, add LEDs to them, and start adding crappy mods. Get a picture of Frank Thomas in a bikini with a helicopter behind him and make an alternate translite.

Put a big Chicago cubs sticker on BG

I could've gone the rest of my life without the image of Frank in a bikini.

I got this Tuesday night and took yesterday off work to learn the rules (a very good reason to take off work I think!).

I never played it, but you will - a lot! Enjoy!
