So I got to play some routed pinball yesterday at the Railroad Street bar in Linerick, Pa.

I didn't have a ton of time, so I only played TSPP, LOTR, and Met...in that order. I wanted to try ACDC and Monster Bash but I'll have to go back.

I hadn't played any of them before. And of course, I've logged a ton of games on my ST Pro at home.

My quick impressions...

TSPP...loved it. Could spend months learning the rules but it was incredibly approachable as a newbie. Color DMD looked great. Showed some signs of aging but it was 100% functioning.

LOTR...I earned three free games and walked away with two still on the machine. This pin felt more like a saga rather than a step up and play. Game was pretty dark, hard to see the ball at the top of the playfield. It didn't hold my attention, probably deserves dedicated playtime to appreciate. Felt a little slow.

Met...This game kicked my butt with fast drains. I was running out of time by this point and couldn't do much with it.

Of the three, TSPP really held my attention. But all three could be happy in my basement.

I then went home and played some ST, I really appreciate this pin even more. Butter smooth while rolling missions.

Sooo....who wants to sell me a TSPP?

Quoted from kaneda:

Nothing worse than a routed, dark, beat up LOTR. My LOTR plays fast as shit...whenever I hear people say LOTR plays slow I just want to beam them over to my machine and let them give it a go.

It definitely wasn't beat up. Everything worked, playfield in great condition, etc. But it was very dark and I couldn't see the ball at the top. The other problem is that the volume was too low. With the bar music I couldn't hear the call outs which made it tough.

TSPP was nice and loud, plus it had a sub woofer. MET was also way too low on volume.

But the dozen pins were all in excellent condition. The bar's website talks about the owner being an enthusiast and partnering with a local guy to bring pinball back to the public.
