Mods should be stepping in at this point...

Quoted from Taxman:

They did. They locked up a bunch of the dumpster fires so we can just stare at this one.

It's at the point where he's abusing the forum.

There's a component to his activities that is not honest. Likely (as others have stated), he doesn't have the machines, or he's trying to sell machines before he has them, or possibly he's just trying to hide the source of his find, and trying to dump what he has on hand so he can pay for the pickup.

...either way, Pinside shouldn't be used this way and moderators should put a stop to it completely.

Anybody else would have interpreted the shady selling behavior as a flag for fraud.

I can for absolute certainty tell you these machines exist. But since you're one of the people stirring up sh** from the very original post and are far away anyway, it won't matter. Pinside also shouldn't be used to bully people and some people should have been ejected from threads, if that was even an option. I know if I was involved coding this website, there would not only be a way to drain a thread that people could have at any time ignored if there wasn't the information they wanted in it -- there'd also be a way for the OP of the thread to just eject someone from the thread that was there specifically to troll.
But, I'm just sayin'....

It's not bullying to point out the issues. It doesn't matter where I come from, or how far away I might be either. It still doesn't change what's going on.

The notion of an OP having the ability to eject anybody for any reason is ridiculous. Talk about open season for abuse, and fraud.......

Also....

Why is this not listed under the regional marketplace?

Why does this not follow Robins guidelines for such a listing? It seems that these rules are in place to STOP the kinds of shenanigans we are seeing from the OP.

What about the regional for sale threads. They're super handy!
I agree, they are cool and convenient. And the plan is to keep them alive. After giving this some serious thought, we came up with the following rules exception.
1- We created a new sub-forum in the market forum section called "Regional for sale threads". All existing (and new) regional threads will be moved here. If you want to add a regional thread for your location/city/district/province you can do so in this sub-forum.
2- When selling games/parts in a regional for sale forum thread only quick blurbs will be allowed. That is, a short description of name, price and condition. The regional for sale threads are mainly geared toward inexpensive project games, warehouse finds, or other cheap games that you are just trying to to sell locally. For-sale posts in this section cannot be full-blown marketplace ads. If you want to post an extensive description (e.g. list of mods a game has) or post photos of your game, a marketplace ad is mandatory. Of course you can "embed" your ad in any (regional) thread of choice using the new feature described below.
3- A quick blurb is not to be used to post "top tier" games for sale in regional threads--this would include games in the $3k range and above. These games should be first listed in the marketplace. Of course they can be added to (regional) threads using the new embed feature described below.
How can I embed my Marketplace ad in a forum thread?
Simply go to the Marketplace Ad in question and look for the "embed this ad in a forum post" link.

Seems that rule number 2 would be especially relevant.

Read my post above your comment.

The OP is breaking the Market Place rules that were designed to STOP what he is doing.

If you think my comments violate the terms, take it up with a mod.

Quoted from acebathound:

Well noted that you have pointed this out and believe it has been discussed some before as well. You can move on now.

Well...

When you're right, your right. Either way you look at it, you try to say I don't have a right to discuss a market place ad simply because I'm not local. Then, when I show you how your father is breaking the rules and causing all kinds of a ruckus, I'm a "bully".

....gotcha.

Reading rule #2 I don't see what you're talking about? No pictures, no huge listings of mod's per game. It says warehouse finds... project machines. No full-blown marketplace ads. I guess I'm missing something.

Reading comprehension, for one thing.

Quoted from ForceFlow:

It's not your job to enforce the forum rules. If you see a problem, please use the post report function in the lower right corner of each post.
While the OP's whole process for trying to sell his games is unusual, the thread will remain open for the time being.

That's your choice to make 100%, and I know you'll be watching the thread as it progresses. However, when the OP posts:

Quoted from too-many-pins:

Let the BASH FEST begin!

To finish his listing, there has to be a flag raised about his intentions to begin with. Carry on...

Quoted from dung:

Question though, and mind you I haven't dug into the rules per say, but is this violating a rule? If it is, why is it still open? Just wanting to understand the reasoning.

In specifically ignoring the definition of the "blurb" (as defined by Robin) as listed in the rules, the omission of the price of the games changes the nature of the now (newly moved) "regional marketplace" listing.

As it is, this is an auction listing. Not a "for sale" listing. It changes the nature of the buyers engagement, and what the seller can do to them.

However, it's the up to the mods discretion...
