Hello all,

New to the site and I hope someone can help me. Kind of a long story, so here goes...

Pickup up a Firepower in pretty good shape and was fully working except the 'F' rollover and center target from the 'Power' wouldn't work (but sometimes would). Read that is the machine thinks something is wrong with the switch, then the games ignores them. So I read that if I push in the target when I fire it up and start a game, it will work. It did but it seems no amount of tweaking the switch keeps them working after I power the machine down. Anyone out there have a suggestion?

Thanks!

Quoted from particlebox:

I push in the target

The switches need to be adjusted.Just adjust it a little bit

Like Mike sez, you probably need to adjust the trip wires a little higher but not so much that the ball hangs up. Always check by rolling a pinball over them, not your finger. If you can hear the click on and off that's a pretty good check that your height is right. Now put the game in switch test mode and again check with a ball and see if it registers.

I've done adjustments to them. They start to work but after a power down, and start to play the same switched don't work again. I've tried adjusting to no avail. Not sure why they sometimes work and then they don't.

Could it also be a loose connection at the driver board? On my Firepower, I also had one of the 'power' targets not working (as well as the machine not booting up sometimes). I ended up getting a new MPU and driver board, and now every switch and light works perfectly. I'm not recommending new boards, but perhaps you should check/reseat the connectors.
