P.O. cut it off, I know it needs one, but can't find a value in the schematics (i can read them, but not very well)

plug 2p3 wire 7 green and white wire

1N4004 diode should work ok

Agreed. Just stock on 1N4004 from GPE. Probably 20 for $1. You can use these wherever the schematic say 1N4001, 1N4002, 1N4003.
