I'm working on a Firepower that has an issue where the speech is really quiet compared to the sounds. I've cranked the balance pot all the way to the speech side and raised the master volume to compensate, but I'd like to know more about what's going on. I was thinking it might be a faulty pot, but they're hard to find. Is there some other kind of amplification component that I could try replacing as well? I've got a capacitor kit coming my way as part of a general bulletproofing, but are there other things that can cause the speech itself to be so quiet? I don't mind shotgunning this one, since I can thoeretically just throw parts in with my order.

Are these op-amp ICs relatively easy to get, if I wanted to just replace both of them?

Great, I'll stick two of those and two sockets onto my order. Anything else you can think of that I may want to try replacing while I'm at it?
