Hi everyone, this is my first post, and I wanted to jump right in to this thread as it seemed appropriate. For a while now I have owned only an arcade machine, but I have always wanted to add a pinball as they are incredibly fun to play. That said, I have been emulating quite a few machines on the "The Pinball Arcade" app in the Mac App Store. Firepower is for sure the one that I have become entranced with!

I, too, am looking for a good, working machine that I can improve with time. There is one that is at a nearby pinball reseller near me, for quite a bit more than is commonly said here, but also is claimed to be "refurbished." I've got to go down to the store and find out just what "refurbished" covers. The machine is available in-store, and is also listed as an eBay sale as well:

Overall, the play field looks pretty good, and they do offer a 30-day warranty, which should cover the fact that it is working now.

Any suggestions from anyone? Anyone have previous dealings with this shop? Any pointers overall for me when looking for a machine?

Thanks, everyone, for all of the advice. It's great to have a real perspective on how much one should cost. Other than classifieds here, craigslist, eBay...are there any other avenues that are usually good to find machines for sale?

I got mine, fully working, not totally clean...scratches on glass, decent cabinet with some minor damage, play field not bad except around the inserts...$500.
