If anyone is interested, there is a CPR Firepower playfield on the Portland, OR CL for $650...
Thanks for posting.... the only reason I'm resisting is my current beat-up playfield matches my beat-up back glass. CPR is awesome in my Mata Hari; it is very tempting....

Good of you to post, Freeplay40.
Perhaps this is a bonehead question, but how do you avoid getting ripped-off buying off of CL across country? Is it a matter of sending the money and simply leaving it up to fate and the pinball gods?

It's all a risk. Guess it would help to have a friend in Portland that perhaps could check it out...maybe another Pinsider?
I own the playfield and it's not a rip-off. My asking price is what I paid for it. I do know a couple Pinsiders in Portland. I'm actually located about 60 miles north of Portland.

Thanks for chiming in. Was hoping it was another Pinsider. Very fair price! You should have no trouble selling this.
Yeah the ripoff was not about price. I think he was concerned about sending$ cross country and not getting a playfield back due to the nature of cl.

That's the way I took him too.
I did a playfield swap last summer with a new CPR one I bought at a pinball show. My backglass in compete crap, but the table plays like a dream now. I love it and wish I could get a playfield for my Sorcerer and F-14 now.
Well worth a purchase if you like Firepower.
GLWTS, jab!
jab... Did you post the playfield on here for sale? Often better here than CL anyway. $700 including shipping (I've shipped playfields before...including a Firepower to another Pinsider) is a good deal for this playfield. $50 will cover shipping easily and you can probably insure it as well.

Familiarity with the seller is how one avoids a remote CL ripoff. I interpreted the ripoff question as targeting the built-in online anonymity of CL between buyer and seller; not that the pricing was wrong. My suspicion is one could easily sell 10 of these at jab's price in a marketplace like Pinside or eBay, but CL really limits the audience to local (because the meet-up to exchange $$ for item resolves what is otherwise too anonymous of a conversation to conduct a transaction).
