Just picked up a firepower last week. Has been running fine minus a couple minor things. Noticed a couple of days ago the sound was cutting out, going away until powered off then on, seemed fine again. One of the sound board fuses popped, changed that. Worked fine for a couple days, now its off again. Weird thing though a couple of times if i hit the left flipper or bumped the coin box it would come back on, weird right? Soo i started checking for any bad wiring, wiggled connections, pulled eproms re seated i have no sound, no sound test, nothing. Thought well maybe theres something wrong with the speaker so i hooked just a spare car stereo speaker directly to the audio and gnd pins on the sound board, and all sounds and speech work! On that speaker, however if i try to run that speaker off the wiring down to the origional speaker theres nothing

You’ve solved it. One of the wires has an open in it.
