With all the extra time at home I decided to take the Firepower II playfield and related parts I had and make a full game out of it. I bought the playfield in 2016 with the intent to gut it for the custom machine the kids and I were making (see https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/legend-of-camelot) Once I got it I felt bad doing it and it has sat for the last 4+ years. Over the last few years I had started to acquire parts for it and now was a good a time as any to start. I just need to take this....

And make it a game again.

The playfield was not the greatest but seemed salvageable.

I also had miscellaneous other parts.

First order was to build the cabinet. (based the plans on my Pharaoh Cabinet)

Once that was sorted it was time to start to put it together.

Next up was to clean then touch up the playfield (not my strong talent) as well as put new rubbers on and LED's.

Next up was the side art. Not having a stencil I grabbed the drawings from ipdb. moved them to Gimp and changed the perspective to make a template I could use to tape out all the graphics.

For example:

I did take some liberties with paint color (I used what I had on hand) and switching the color of the red and yellow in a couple of instances based on what I liked better. Overall I am happy with the result.

I still have more to do (Rebuild the flippers, put a cover over the power supply) but the game is coming together.

What material did you use for the cabinet?

Quoted from bluespin:

3/4" inch cabinet grade plywood for the bottom cabinet , as well as the back box. Then I used 1/2" for the bottom of the cabinet and the back of the backbox.

Great job. Looks awesome.

Here is a closer shot of the touched up playfield. Not the greatest job but much better than I started with. I may do a bit more to it but at least its presentable now.

Did you keep the original connectors terminals?

I did not replace any of the connectors.

I guess if there is no problems. Why should you.....

I had to buy all new boards since i did not have any to start with. So all the connectors on the boards were new. I was hoping the connectors on the wires would be ok since the boards were new. We shall see if I made a mistake.

Looking good.
