Hey all!
Having some issues with my Firepower displays and I can’t seem to find the culprit. Upon turning on the game, all of the displays are off except for one segment that is intermittent. Any idea of what could be the issue? Thanks.

With power off, reseat all the connectors from the display to the master, along with the connectors on the master display card.
If that doesn’t do it, with power off, remove connection to one display at a time, then see if you have displays. This step is looking for a bad display that is dragging everything down.
Try and report back.

Thanks for the help! I just now reflowed solder everywhere on the master display board and plugged each display in one at a time and still nothing. BUT I think I found the issue, there are two burnt resistors and when I tap on them, the displays come back but then fade out. What do you think!

Replace those, and investigate what’s in those circuits to find out what’s causing the overcurrent.

Will do! Can you provide a link to where I can find the resistors? I think it says 0 ohms
Quoted from Billc479:If they are zero ohm, use a piece of jumper wire.
Will do, thanks

Triple check because I doubt those are 0 ohm resistors. If you put a jumper it could be worse.

Quoted from Pinball-DOOD:Just to clarify, which direction should I install the new resistors? Does it matter?
Polarity doesn’t matter on the resistors. I’d install them so the color bands are in the same orientation as the other 10k resistors already on the board.

Hey all!
Replaced the resistors and still nothing. The displays sometimes come in and display the correct scores but then fade out. Any other ideas?
Running into the same issue again, I’m leaning towards a problem regarding cleanliness of the boards! I rubbed my finger along the contacts of the far right connector (male end) Of the master display board and it was filthy. Any recommendations on cleaning these edge connector contacts? After I did this, the displays got better!
Quoted from Robotworkshop:Pink eraser and rubbing alcohol.
Really? Alright cool! Thanks
Quoted from Pinball-DOOD:Found a bad connector on the cpu, nevermind haha. I’ll let you know what else happens
