I posted about this in the firepower thread. I have a fuse in firepower that constantly blows (I can’t remember the number imbut it’s the one that controls the solenoids). When I bought it it had a 3.5 in it and it’s specked for 3.0 (or 3.0, 2.5, I don’t have it right here). But it blew the over sized one too!

So, I need some troubleshooting advice. The boards are not my area of expertise when it comes to repairs. Here’s what I have:

When you power on the machine with a good fuse do any solenoids pop before the fuse blows? Mine blew the solenoid fuse after the power transistor for the top left pop bumper shorted and stuck the solenoid on. There's an excellent diagram of the driver board layout and which transistor drives what solenoid on firepower.2ya.com. look for driver board assembly diagram.

Thanks for the tip! I did not think anything fires on boot. In fact, I can sometimes get a game or two before it blows
