Is it going to get a coat of clear?

No I have, dare I say, a playfield protector for it.

#102 4 years ago

Spent a lot of time today getting the wiring harness back on the new Playfield.

May not look like much but all that's left to do is get all the mechanical stuff back on it, but that all still needs to be tore apart cleaned up.

It's interesting how the pop bumper has changed...

Agreed. Not sure why they felt it necessary to punch three really big holes in the playfield only to fill them up with a plastic part.

I think the whole idea was that you could take out the whole pop bumper assembly as one convenient piece, then take it over to the bench for testing and switch adjustments.

#108 4 years ago

For quick field replacement, pull out a dead one, pop in a good one and flip on.
Keep em earning!

#109 4 years ago

Pop bumpers are in just need to be soldered up.

Hope it's not too late!

Awesome. Thank you. I'm looking forward to it. I'll definitely let you know when it arrives.

Back working on a game got the parts for the flippers out of the tumbler I have started putting those back together, but waiting for coils end of stroke switches and some other parts to finish putting them together.

But the parts came out looking nice

After media polishing, is there a wax or protection to place on the metal. ?

Playfield is back in the cabinet.

Plugged everything back in just to see what would happen turned on the game blew the F5 15 amps fuse. So I have been trying to figure out what is shorting out. Bad thing is I am out of 15 amp fuses.

Good news is all the tests off the coin door button work with the exceptionof the outside playfield perimeter lights. So that is where my focus is at for shorts.

You need a set of circuit breakers for testing purposes. Indispensable.

This guy should advertise on Pinside - they would be nice to have on hand and are not too badly priced for the range needed.

Made process today on playfield. All the posts and rubber is on with exception of acouple areas.

Game is playing fine with the exception of the outside GI lights not working. So overall very happy.

Thanks! I thought that it would brighten up the playfield somewhat by going with the white.

Worked on working out the bugs today and getting playfield finished up. Game was playing but would reset every now and then. I need to re pin the connectors at the mpu. So I am going to work on that tomorrow.

Some fuses came today so I will work on the GI problem too. The circuit breakers won't be here till late tomorrow. So I'll blow a few fuses messing around with it till they come.

#138 4 years ago

Good day today. Found the GI problem, ended up being two braided wires touching each other.

Used cool new circuit breakers and only tripped 3 times before I found cause.

Repinned mpu and game plays just like it should, so this restore is a done deal. So here are pics of finished game.
