"Tractor doc" mentioned on one of his posts there was an eBay site that's sold these are a little larger than the originals but cleaned up and polish they look pretty nice so I'll be using those.
From left to right new ones as they come in the package middle polished up far-right old Originals

Lots of detailed lines that you want to make sure don't get pulled up on that backing paper

Now to peel protective paper off to reveal the stencil

Do you get a bit of high spit whete the colors meet, and if so do you light sand ?
I try not to get too thick with the coats. But sometimes there is a small lip or edge that you can feel. I dont try to sand that away out of fear of screwing it up.
Lower cabinet is officially back on its legs. Always nice to get to this point makes it so much easier to move it around.

So I've been working on a lower cabinet just haven't been posting a lot of pictures this is what I've got done so so far.
Almost done with the lower cabinet I still have to put the right side rail on and hook up the flipper and little demon button on the right side.
And tear apart and clean up the coin door

Or did you paint them?
Most all the small parts got tumbled in my Tumbler. The plate that all the small parts screw onto I repainted
Time to start working on the back

Glad to hear it!
Still working on the back box getting all problem areas fixed.

Using my blue painter's tape trick to make my corner and then fill in the Gap with fiberglass epoxy.

Yeah sorry I have been little bit busy doing other things.
But I was able to get the backbox primed yesterday. It still needs lots of work. Will post pictures later today.
Finally back working on the backbox. I was able to get some good coats of primer on it and it's not looking too bad
I set it back up on the lower cabinet so I can get a better look at it
The corners that I worked on look real good, but there's still some spots that needs some work and I need to finish sanding it you can still see some of the grain in the wood and just small little imperfections here and there.

My Flash Gordon is like this too so I'm going to see if I can modify that to make it look flush and still use the hinges

I was able to get some of the back box hardware and screws tumbled and cleaned up

Walnut shells
looks awesome.
I've wondered many times who does the cabinet artwork originally on stenciled pins, it seems like it would be it's own kind of specialty and is often very different style wise from either playfield or backglass art, which of course are often very different from each other. probably not the place to ask, but your fine pictures brought it to mind again

Yeah I agree there always seems to be a lot of emphasis on playfields artists and the back glass, but not too much is mentioned on who does the cabinet artwork. Maybe it's the same guys, I don't know, maybe somebody else knows and can chime in
The top is stripped for the most part.

The other side might take a little while.

After taking a good close look at the underneath of the playfield, I see a few interesting hacks that I am pretty sure are not from the factory. Monster wire on flipper.

Is it going to get a coat of clear?
