I sent my soundboard from my Fireball II to Coin op cauldron to have them work on it.
I'm a little nervous about it but I'll report back when I get to board back and let you know how they did

They will do just fine. Relax Clive knows !
Actually got an email from coin op cauldron letting me know that they got my board and it would be like 7 and 9 days before I get it back. So I was pretty impressed that they took the time to get ahold of me.
That's always a good sign
Got another email from Coin Op Cauldron today. My soundboard is done and I should have it next week.
I think it's great that they are good enough to take time to email you and keep you posted.
I'll report back when it back in the game.
Grumpy (Don) was over & thought after I put in new drop targets they were not going down & up properly. He wasn't super familiar with Ballys but thought maybe the spring may be in the wrong spot or the spring may not be the correct 1.
Would someone be able to attach a few pictures of theirs or let me know if you can see something not right with mine? Thank you very much.

Mine all work just like I should just dirty unfortunately I'll fix that eventually

I did get my sound board back from Coin Op Cauldron and it works great! Very happy with it and the way the transaction happened. Would certainly recommend them.

Thanks very much timab2000 !
Grumpy looked at your & my pictures & think the springs actually may be in the right spots but maybe the targets are not resetting or falling correctly because the playfield is up.
I will install the new drop targets in the other 2 assembly's... put the playfield down & see how they perform.
Thanks again for your help.

"#912" lamps.

Schematic says #921 lamps. #912 will work fine (lower wattage).
My friend Don noticed 2 of the kick-out springs did not look right & the tension was wrong.
Would anyone know what the correct spring would be for these kick-outs or a part number I would look for? Thanks a lot.

They look fine... those spring are OEM.

Really? Oh ok. Thanks. That's something less I need to replace.

Yes, they look funny, but those are the correct springs installed there.
Finally got some time in on my game.
Couple questions.
1)How many balls are supposed to be in the game? This one has 3 balls in it.
2)Sometimes it will kick out a second ball and I have to plunge that one while the other ball is still in play.
3) I can lock the balls in the saucer but they never come out until end of ball. Are they supposed to come out while playing?
Game uses three balls.
If it's kicking out two balls there could be something wrong with a small switch in the trough maybe an adjustment is needed on that. Or the small wire on the switch could be broken or missing
If you get both balls locked you need to hit the three stationary targets up by the top flipper and it will unlock them for multi-ball.
You only get multi-ball if both balls are locked
If you don't do that at the end of the game it will kick the balls back out.
Hope that helps fun game

Answer:
1) 3 balls.
2) check for sticky out trough switchs.
3) ball must go through top rollover?.

Thanks guys. Will check it out. Agreed might be a sticky/bad switch.
Came here to find out what people shoot for during multiball as I have never worked it out.... but it seems like I have been doing it right all time
final resting places for my old playfield and the older backglass. I made the frames out of cedar privacy fence slats. I used the old playfield glass as a cover for the playfield. Treated the cedar with boiled linseed oil.
I'm going to add an engraved plaque on the top with the playfield manufacturing info - 3-31-81 5 5 12 sometime down the road
And I have a spare backglass if something unfortunate ever happens to the newer one in the game

I need some help everyone! I'm trying to put my hands on another Fireball II pin as I was stupid about a year ago and sold mine. Oh how I miss it! Any leads to a project one or someone selling one would be great. I'm not afraid of a project, which my Fireball II was, so anything in that realm would be okay. Wish I could find the guy I sold it to and try to buy it back. That's probably slim though. Thanks for the help.
list your games on pinballowners.com, there is a wishlist section. It also lists - by games - owners and whether they would be willing to sell them.
Put it on your wishlist at this site, you'll be notified via e-mail if one comes up for sale. And check ebay, of course.
oh btw, got new instruction cards for my Fireball II from Mad Voodoo. They weren't available when I made an order for my D&D, so I contacted them, they put them into production and they look great
http://www.madvoodoo.com/#/twoPane/product/221
They arrived this morning, along with the cards for my LOTR.
On my Fireball II, I have an old problem with the flashing bulbs. 3 flashes normally, but the 1st one down at the left side, always burn when I light up the machine. I use 921 lamps as described in the manual. I have burned so many bulbs, that I would want an help to find the problem. I have replaced the bulb support too, but without any success. Any help is welcome.
I've made two videos to show the problem. I've made a mistake in the previous post : It's not the one down at the left side, but the one up at the left side.
In the first video, I light up the pinball with the bulb, and all light on, and the bulb burns if I don't light off immediately the pinball. Then, I light on the pinball without the bulb, and all is OK. Then I put back the bulb, all light on, and the bulb burns.
In the second video, I show you the connections of the faulty bulb.
Does anyone know where I can find some coin mechs for my Fireball ll? I need 2 quarter & 1 Susan B. Anthony mech.
Thanks

The SCR is blown out.
I'm trying to find some 555 sockets that attach under the Fireball ll playfield on Marco's website but can't find anything.
Do I need to search for a part number? I didn't see anything for this in the manual.
Thanks for any help.
Quoted from vec-tor:The SCR is blown out.
Thanks for your answer. But I don't think that there is an SCR for these bulbs, because they are on a 43v line and they are all linked together.

SCR Q18 2N5060-------drives the MOC 3011
The MOC 3011 drives the four #921 lamps.
SCR input has a #555 lamp socket.
1) is the #555 lamp good? schematics ref.#44 lamp.
2) does the lamp turn off and on in lamp test?
3) if the #555 lamp is "on" all the time, you have a blown SCR. Schematic ref. #44 lamp.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) if the #555 lamp functions O.K. in lamp test, then you have a blown MOC 3011
--- circuit.

Thanks for this new answer. I will test all this week-end. I think that the #555 lamp is good, and works well in test. I think that I've already changed the 2948-451 board, but not sure. I think more of a short somewhere in the circuit, because I have disassembled all a long time ago, and it's since this time that the #921 blows. I will come back with fresh news !
This is the results of my tests :
SCR Q18 2N5060-------drives the MOC 3011
The MOC 3011 drives the four #921 lamps.
SCR input has a #555 lamp socket.
1) is the #555 lamp good? schematics ref.#44 lamp. => the lamp is good
2) does the lamp turn off and on in lamp test? => the lamp turn off and on in lamp test
3) if the #555 lamp is "on" all the time, you have a blown SCR. Schematic ref. #44 lamp. => so not this
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) if the #555 lamp functions O.K. in lamp test, then you have a blown MOC 3011 => I'm not sure. Do the 3 other flash lamp would work with a blown MOC 3011 ?
What I have done : I have unsoldered a green wire who linked the blown bulb with two other wires : a red one (not totally red, but I can't see the stripe), and a black one that comes from the magnet.
With this unsoldered wire, I have the 4 flashing bulbs working. They are flashing in lamp test mode, is it the normal behaviour ? Because, before unsoldering this wire, they were flashing in coil test mode only with the magnet (test #16). Now, they do not flash anymore in the coil test mode. I discover that with some #921 bulbs, only 2 or 3 light. With the actual mix of #921 bulbs (not all the same), I have two bright and two dim. It's better than nothing.
I would want to solder back the wire, but before I want to be sure what is the normal test : lamp test or coil test ?
I have tested too, 2 other boards : AS-2518-82 in place of the AS-2518-67, but with these boards there is no flashing bulb at all.
For the moment, I have done only tests, not a game. I can do pictures or videos. Thanks for the time you take to help me.
Quoted from Manu2:I would want to solder back the wire, but before I want to be sure what is the normal test : lamp test or coil test ?
The flashers/brights are driven by the lamp scr...
Therefore, it is part of the lamp test not coil test...
I've played a game with 4 #921 bulbs in place, and working in lamp test. But in game, no flashing bulb during the collect bonus (orange arrow in saucer).
I've soldered back the green wire to the first #921 bulb... and it blows ! But I have the 3 others that flashes during the collect bonus.
Now, I'm back to the initial problem.
Question? Is the lamp driver board the original OEM or is it
a led replacement style board?
Once, I had to work on a Fireball II and the brights would not work...
Put back the old OEM factory lamp driver board back in and the flashers/brights worked.

It's the original lamp driver board, not a replacement.
