I purchased this pin in Indianapolis in 2012. At the time I was renting a property in Melbourne Ky.
Shortly after I was called to work on the TV show Dallas. I was supposed to only be gone 4-5days.My last day on set nearly 3weeks later I got the call: Tweakers had broke into the house robbed small valuables and torched the place with gasoline.

I was more than devastated by this
The property owner was a single mom and I felt for her. I also felt anger, shock, lost faith in humanity, couldn't understand why someone would destroy my collection for drug money?

When I went to the property it was still smoldering 3days later. All my pins destroyed but one. I had just finished my Bride of Pinbot project
And was going to get an Mpu for Fire!

This Machine had been taken off route after 6months for lack of play, and later had it's mpu used in a profitable game. Meanwhile it sat in storage until I bought it from likely a pinsider .

It was still folded up and close to the exit door, the wiring, boards, playfield were all fine, the cab has mostly smoke and residue damage , except for the front left corner and part of the front panel,

I have decided to keep some smoke on the main brown color as a tribute to it's history.

Right now it's missing: pf glass, lockdown bar, Mpu, beacon light assy (it was there before),

Parts that.need replacement: flipper buttons, start button, possibly transformer

Note: I didn't take pics of the backbox of cab prior to starting, it need the MDF replaced as it swelled up from water

So.the cab side artwork can be saved with touchups, after I'll clear coat

How I did this was :

1. Take a orbital or 1/4 sheet if that's what you have, use 400 grit sandpaper, sand the area in a circular motion constantly moving for 2-3 minutes , you don't want to stay in one spot more than a second or two.

2. Use a foam up style cleaner, I used a cheap wheel cleaner from the dollar store, but you may not . Spray it over the area you just sanded, let it sit for a few minutes.

3. Once the foam has started to thin out you may see it has discolored that's actually very good, grab a shop rag and wipe in a circular motion until it's nearly dry

4.repeat

Keep doing this until most if not all the artwork is as clean as it can get. Then decide whether you want to touch up or sand down and vinyl the art

Side note: the wheel cleaner works well on the side rails as well

I think it took so long is because Everytime I looked at it, I was reminded of what happened, arson is a bitch!

In the opening I listed things missing and things known to need replaced

I have some smaller parts on hand, haven't ordered anything yet, want to take care of the cabinet first, then clean playfield ,wiring etc.

The hardest things will be the beacon light and the mpu, luckily the playfield was spared, having mylar likely helped, I did see at least one plastic that is warped from heat, and if it's just that one, you can see it in the pics, I'll likely leave it as a tribute

I would prefer a 11a or 11b,, I wouldn't mind a rottendog at least the previous version, but I'd prefer original if possible,

Could you clarify for me, are you doing a run of mpus? Or offering an original?

I'd be game for a kit!!

Especially if I could use sockets for the differences between 11a and b

Additionally, @wolffpac, has developed system 11 displays for your missing display problem

Its unclear honestly, the board was untested prior to the fire, I don't remember why I didn't test it prior, ill have to clean the smoke off then evaluate

So , the front left corner is delaminating from heat damage, I will need to remove the those pieces that are too delicate and loose, fortunately I have materials to remedy it, no pics today, but next post will

Continued cleaning the sides, started on front panel, did some test cleaning of wiring,boards, and inside back box,

Gonna be busy with life stuff next few days, an the auction is Saturday, so next post maybe several days or less if I find time to work on it

When I arrived to the house, I looked around an I cried, I just couldn't believe someone could do that! , All the other machines were either a pile of smoldering Ash or a burnt empty shell, but there was fire folded up by the door, somehow it survived, and I remember thinking if it survived it deserves to live again, it's taken me 6 yrs to recover and get back into the hobby, and my hope is to have Fire! Up and running by the end of the yr, but with kids and school it'll be a challenge

My playfield was fortunate! Few plastics got warped that's all, this pf was not worn prior to the fire so , I need some assistance with the rotating flame plastic under the center of pf, mine is Missing after all these years

I'm hoping to get some progress made on it this weekend, I'm currently tied up doing touchups on a playfield for someone.
