Looking at a FirePower. GI lights on but won't play. Back glass is in good shape but cabinet was painted over and art work is gone. Playfield has normal wear on it. What's it worth?

Quoted from mof:

$300-$600 is reasonable.

It's a sucky game when not set up correctly.
It's a great game with a CPR playfield, and set up correctly:

1. stars can be too tall
2. flippers might not be rebuilt
3. PF might not be level, pitched at 6.5' and waxed

If you can't enjoy making the top saucer from the right flipper and ripping that spinner, the game needs some love.

I can't stress enough how correct mof is on this one. A worn out firepower is an absolute dog of a game, we're talking terrible playing and unbelievably boring. The reputation for Firepower has taken a hit the past few years because of how many worn-out games are out there.

But get some rebuilt flippers in there, replace the rubbers, new balls, fresh wax, and fresh standups for the main 6..... it just comes alive. Just don't expect long ball times. It's a hell of a fast player, with a nasty center drain tendency. Make sure to learn how to light the kickback in the left outlane, it's also very hungy.

Definitely a nasty centre drain is common with a Firepower, mine has cupped inserts, this seems to make it worse for centre drains than other games I have with off set bonus inserts. I also find the same problem with cupped bonus inserts & centre drains with my Mata Hari as well.

If the BG is in good shape thats worth $200 alone.

i agree, i'd say go ahead, in parts alone you have more than that and nice BG for this machine are hard to find.
