It's time for Premium/LE owners to have their own club.

As an LE owner, anyone who is waiting on a premium, you are going to be extremely happy with your purchase. Hopefully everyone who has ordered an LE now has it. No better way to start 2016 than getting this pin.

The new side rails , do you need to drill holes in the cabinet?

#7 8 years ago

The Stark side rails go perfect with the premium.

Center, did your premium arrive yet?

#15 8 years ago

Has anyone figured out how to start Wall Multi-ball?

I had it going the other day, but I have absolutely no idea how I did it.

#19 8 years ago
Quoted from Erik:

It's the dragon/Targaryan kickback. Gotta do it 6 times. The animation is often so delayed that it seems to be granted from other shots, which had me baffled for a while
Edit: then hit the right orbit to start

Thank you. I think the main problem with that shot, is no animation is capable of keeping up with it.

For this title, Stern should release a video of how to play/rules. It's gonna be very hard to justify selling this game.

#21 8 years ago
Quoted from 85vett:

Can I join early? Bought an LE this week. Wont be delivered for another week, at least, though.?
I really want a topper but dang, $500 is steep. Maybe one day I'll give in but for now I'm passing on it. Did order a shaker motor though.
Speaking of shaker motors, I've heard of issues with them on spike games. Wasn't there something you had to look for to make sure you don't blow a board?

The issues have been worked out. Very easy to install a shaker on a Spike game.

#36 8 years ago

JJ is a good distributor too.

#49 8 years ago
Quoted from AJ51:

LE #67 checking in. Had two months have only played maybe 15 games. Ripped a tendon in bicep. Will be trying to play again this weekend. It hurts to play, almost as bad as not playing. Can't win. LOL

I had a torn rotator cuff fixed in May. I didn't start playing again until July, when I played, I had to stand off to the right side, cause the shoulder wasn't flexible enough for me to be centered. I couldn't nudge either. I sucked.

#51 8 years ago
Quoted from AJ51:

I have to decide in next two weeks if I'm getting surgery. See specialist Tuesday. Hearing you had to wait that long to play again. Man, it's been hard these 6 weeks for me. I've played it here and there when the arm was having a good day. How long before you were 100%?

Surgery was May 20th...I'm still not 100%. Brodeur ripped his biceps tendon and missed about 3-4 months of the hockey season a few years back. I wish I had that instead of the rotator.

I know on the upper play field that you can add extra time to the mode. I was unaware of a "side mission" up there.

I really hope Stern releases a youtube video on the rules.

#79 8 years ago
Quoted from markp99:

I had an odd issue tonite. After several hours of play, then a short break, my Premium was exhibiting very strange behaviour - the sound of a clashing sword was consistently playing no matter what was happening in the game. This was not familiar and terribly annoying.
I removed the glass and started a game to see if I could diagnose the issue. I quickly noticed the slightest tap with my hand on the upper or main playfield, even the cabinet, would register 30pts and play that clashing sword sound, every single tap.
I went into switch diagnostics and tapped the playfield. Switch 86 was inadvertently firing (right sling, upper playfield). A manual tap on the sling produced a 30pt score and that now annoying sound. I regapped the switch slightly with my finger as I could not get my leaf switch tool into the tight space. The switch now registers normal ball hits, but not inadvertent shocks to the playfield.
Easy enough.

I think this is pretty common. Mine did the same.

Have to say, I love the passion Dwight is showing in this machine. I can't wait to see where the code is for this machine in another year.

Does anyone else notice the LE playfield in the video matches the LE play field in the 3D renderings. Looks like they did make some changes on the LE between the announcement and shipping.

#111 8 years ago

I take out the metal washers and put in the clear plastic ones.

#122 8 years ago
Quoted from pninja005:

Does someone has a prem / le playfield comparison picture?
Which pf do you prefer?

I don't have a preference on which play field, IMO, the LE play field works perfectly with the LE art and the premium playfield works perfectly with the premium art.

Anyone have pictures of the upgraded side armor on their premium?

#137 8 years ago

Just need Comet DMD glare guard to get rid of that glare.

#156 8 years ago

How is the new code working out for everyone?

I'll be updating my LE tonight.

Just got my shaker. That's going in tonight...ahhhh...SPIKE shakers...why couldn't it have always been this easy.

One of my friends played it at my house yesterday for the first time and absolutely loved the machine. He told his wife he was only stopping by place for like 30 minutes...90 minutes later, she is calling him wondering where he was.

#202 8 years ago

Now that we have had our games for a while, what houses are people using?

I find I'm using Stark 90% of the time.

#209 8 years ago
Quoted from labnip:

GOT her set up

What do you think of the game?

#212 8 years ago

In the making of video, Dwight had said that in the upper playfield, we will have the ability to kill white walkers. I have yet to come across that, is it already in the game or does it need to be programmed?

#214 8 years ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

Is the upper pf used in winter has come? Perhaps that is what he meant?

I honestly don't know. I very rarely get that mode.

#217 8 years ago

Shaker motor is now installed. Holy crap!!! Dwight definitely put it to good use.

I recommend everyone who has the game to install the shaker. It's very easy.

#237 8 years ago

Little confused...you bought a Canada version in Texas?

#256 8 years ago
Quoted from centerflank:

Finally! I like these Spike accessory Power boards, fancy......the clear coat on this is amazing just like the TWD I grabbed 3 weeks ago. So much to do........
Love
Lightning Kitty

It's a shame those side rails don't come standard with the premium. They go so well with that version.

#300 8 years ago

Looking through the pics, have you guys ever considered installing the Comet DMD glare guard? I install it on all of my games and it works great. The instructions are to apply it to the outside of the plastic in front of the DMD. I install it on the inside of the plastic in front of the DMD.

I went to Modern Pinball tonight while I was in the city. I played a few games on Got Pro.

Couple things I noticed:

1 - The LE playfield has more detail. Around the house names, the pro just has a gray color.
2 - Upper playfield adds a lot to the game. I kept shooting for it even though it wasn't there.
3 - The dragon moves so much better on the Le/Premium.
4 - More of an observation of Pro vs Premium/Le, but the light show is night and day. I'll admit, I've taken for granted the light shows on Star Trek LE and GOT LE. Amazing the difference between a game that has full color changers vs a game that doesn't.

#326 8 years ago

Last night, I got up to 10x multiplier. Thanks everyone for pointing out that collecting swords is the key to this.

Just to reiterate, after playing the pro, I have a whole new appreciation for the premium/LE.

#338 8 years ago

White would probably look good on premium.

1 week later
#342 7 years ago

I put the sticker next to the sword last night. Looks great. I recommend everyone do this.

Also last night, one of my friends finally got to try the machine for the first time (not like it's been in my place since December). He loved it.

Out of the 7 machines in my collection, he pointed to Star Trek LE, Spider-Man VE, and GOT LE as the 3 best in my collection. He didn't realize that he selected the 3 Steve Ritchie machines in my collection.

#348 7 years ago
Quoted from markp99:

Curious, what SCOOP you are referring to? There's the left and right orbit gates up top and then the diverter arm into the elevator. If Mystery is lit, seems like the diverter should kick the ball over. Maybe getting there too fast or too slow to be kicked?
The last orbit shot described above was a very solid shot. Not a rocket my any means, but certainly not a dribbler.

What happens when you launch a ball? Is it going into the elevator and to the upper playfield?

If that isn't working, then you definitely have an issue with the diverted arm not opening.

#351 7 years ago
Quoted from markp99:

The diverter arm is working just fine in diagnostics. When I launch, the ball will go to the upper playfield about ~50% of the time. I had presumed this was not supposed to be a 100% thing; rather, dependent upon which mode/ball was in play.
Just played with the glass off - never missed the mystery shot. Ugh. Then glass on - missed it twice in a row with the ball continuing thru and exiting from the left orbit. Seems if the the diverter arm had opened on the Mystery switch the ball would have bumped into the elevator assy and trickled back down into the pops, vs making it all the way around. The only common thread I can see is WIC is ready to be lit, or is lit when this happens.
The right orbit is a challenge for me to hit consistently - when I do hit it - I WANT TO TAKE CREDIT!!

I don't think I understood your response. When the glass is off, is the ball going into the elevator on the extra ball or mystery?

#356 7 years ago

Are you on the latest code update?

#362 7 years ago

Skypilot, nice trio of games you got there.

Hard to tell on the pics, but do you have any floor protectors under your pins?

I use the pinball shoes from pinball decals.

#363 7 years ago
Quoted from kermit24:

By the way, the Stern engineering left orbit "fix" (removing the 3 top lane rubber rings) is generally working. My solid left orbit shots complete most of the time. Especially when it's a clean shot.

They finally came out with their fix? I don't remember seeing it.

#366 7 years ago
Quoted from kermit24:

I called Stern support a week or so ago to replace a bad switch in my upper PF, and asked about the left orbit situation. He said the recommendation from engineering was to remove the 3 rubber rings (under the throne) at the top of the 3 upper lanes (the red posts) - He said that all Premium models produced in the future would not have those 3 rings installed. Now, nice, clean spinner shots make it around the orbit. Some still make it in the pops, but thats mostly because the shot either didn't have enough speed or wasn't clean. I have even backhanded the left orbit successfully a few times.
Eric

Am I the only one who thinks that it comes across as a lazy fix?

I honestly thought they were going to go with capgun ( did I get the name right?) orbit fix.

#369 7 years ago

Not every LE/premium has a problem with the orbit shot. Mine works great.

Only adjustment I had to make was on one of the 2 way gates, had to bend the metal back just a tad so it wouldn't interfere with the ball. Compare that to my KISS, where I needed a new SD card and 2 node boards.

#372 7 years ago

I put the shooter lane protector on from Cliffy today...then I played for a good 2 hours before tonight's episode...then for another 90 minutes after (and laundry at the same time).

I'm not sure about others, but IMO, Steve Ritchie has been on fire with his designs since coming back to Stern. I can't think of any other 3 machine release period of his that tops his last 3/

On another note, as I'm playing Winter is Coming tonight, all I could think of is how cool that must look on the premium. Any premium members have that mode on video?

#392 7 years ago

LE owner here. A few weeks ago, I played the pro at Modern Pinball. I kept shooting for the upper playfield. I probably would've liked the pro, if I hadn't already but a few hundred games on my LE.

#397 7 years ago
Quoted from swampfire:

Change of plans. I'm driving to Jacksonville next Saturday to bring home an LE. I know the only difference is the artwork, but brownish-red is my favorite color. Plus, dragons! It'll go well with my favorite alternate translite.
Censored
This is my first LE. Hell, I don't even have a Premium. I just love upper playfields and I needed a Steve Ritchie DMD in my collection.

Get the sticker that goes next to the sword. That is a must mod for this game.

#411 7 years ago

Dragon looks better on the LE. It's nice and solid. On the pro, it just moves weird.

#414 7 years ago

When Dwight has this code complete, IMO, it's going to be one of Stern's best ever coded machines.

#419 7 years ago
Quoted from Skypilot:

I've been enjoying my LE for a few weeks now.The only issue has been the ball not staying in the chair 75% of the time. Suggested fixes?

Adjust the ramp.

#423 7 years ago

Code 1.29 is up.

I love Dwight.

#425 7 years ago
Quoted from markp99:

This does not make me happy!

Is this their fix?

I'm guessing I'm one of the few where the orbit shot works perfectly.

#445 7 years ago

I saw one go for $6,800.

IMO, it looks like this game is getting nicely received. Plus, the code support has been amazing.

If I had to guess, I can see this pin holding a $7,500 value in the future.

#450 7 years ago
Quoted from swampfire:

My HUO LE was $7500, but that included $1200 in mods. The seller didn't even mention the shaker or the extra Stern shooter rod - those were really nice surprises.
There's been a lot of smack talk about the upper playfield, same thing happened with METLE and the hammer. But even if the last GOT code drop was final, I think the absolute floor is around $6500 for a stock LE. And Spike pins ought to hold their value better as a whole, with all the improvements. The audio quality is pretty awesome.
HUO GOTLE are still competing with NIB from distributors. Once that stock is mostly gone, I think HUO prices will get a boost. That's what I saw happen with LOTR.

As the code matures, this pin will do nothing but rise in popularity.

Not sure if I had said it in this thread, but when I played the pro, I felt like a huge part of the game was missing.

I think the best comparison game would be Star Trek. Those LEs shot up in value after Dwight cleaned up the code. I remember seeing a Star Trek LE go for $6,500. Outside of a price crash, I can't see the game getting that low again.

#461 7 years ago
Quoted from billsfanmd:

Is there a custom shooter rod for all versions? May end up getting pro though

Have you tried both versions?

#490 7 years ago

Welcome to the club.

#498 7 years ago
Quoted from beelzeboob:

It's not really a club you want to be a member of. And don't be too proud of yourself when you're inducted into the club. There's another club for people who have done it multiple times.

I only had to get back there to adjust one of the 2-way gates. Other than that (knock on wood), I've been lucky.

#500 7 years ago

Adjust the upper ramp for the throne. Loosen the 2 screws and lower the right side closer to the throne. I did that 2 days after I got the game, haven't had a ball fall out in 6 months.

#503 7 years ago

That's a funny fix.

Did you try lowering the ramp closer to the throne?

#540 7 years ago
Quoted from beelzeboob:

Your family was right, and you got the right machine. You're the first person to say they like the LE playfield better, I think, but when it's lit up, it's a beaut.

What about me? I said I liked the LE play field better a few months ago.

#568 7 years ago

Here's a question for WIC. How do I light the hurry ups? I know to hit the hurry up, but I haven't figured out to light them yet.

#570 7 years ago
Quoted from spandol:

Once you qualify a house so it's lit to battle, the house shot lights in the WIC color. Hit that shot 3 times to start the hurry up.

For Lannister, to make it work I would keep passing on that mode?

#572 7 years ago

Here's another question, if the house is completed, can the WIC hurry up still be lit?

Dwight really needs to do a video examining all the rules.

#576 7 years ago

Once more people play this and understand the rules, it's going to shoot right up in the top 100.

#585 7 years ago
Quoted from spandol:

I'm actually surprised a lot of people don't like it. I think the software has a lot going for it in todays pinball market. Of course, not everyone likes the same games, but I was just surprised more than any other time, that people are turned off by the game. Not a problem though. I still play it more than any of my other games.

People constantly complain about code. This game has it. Then they comain the code is too hard.

#594 7 years ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

Nah, no need to make points more lucrative, just play as house stark! in fact, Stark is becoming my favorite house to play cause of the super stack and scoring bonuses. I got this super stack going after completing just one mode! (earned an extra sword from mystery too). This was done on my pro - yes, I know this is an LE/PREM club, forgive me

This is the land where Game of Thrones takes place...didn't the ranger in Season 1, Episode 1, ask Ned Stark for forgiveness....

You have the sticker mod too...so you know what comes next...

#600 7 years ago

Can't speak for others, but I plan on playing a lot GOT this weekend.

Has anyone gone back to rewatch the beginning of the series?

Yesterday, I watched the first 3 episodes...and WOW, it's like a brand new series. There is so much stuff that I didn't pick up on when I first started watching.

Excellent - thanks guys. Sticker looks great. Ordered that one and the spinner stickers from Bob yesterday. Also ordered topper and red tremor shaker motor. Cliffy will be on it's way soon as well. Also picking up Mezel's Battering Ram Mod. Thanks again! Pics when she arrives!

How did you decide on the LE?

#647 7 years ago
Quoted from toro1966:

Ironically I have only ever seen two episodes of the show. One several years ago and one several months ago. So I'm not necessarily a fan. That said, I got a chance to play the pro at the NWPAAS and like the look and feel of the game. I am looking forward to the additional features of thee LE. Almost settled for a premium but I liked the art package better on the LE.

Once you get accustomed to the LE/Premium, the pro will become unplayable.

#654 7 years ago
Quoted from toro1966:

Fixes the left orbit always dropping to the pops.

Not all machines need that fix. Play your machine first before installing it.

My machine plays perfectly...I'm assuming it wasn't built on a Monday.

#657 7 years ago
Quoted from toro1966:

Thanks. Will definitely do that. What number is yours?

#133

I don't think the number has any bearing, just luck of the draw.

#659 7 years ago

So stupid me....I set my game up in December, but never perfectly leveled it. Figure almost 7 months of playing on a machine not perfectly leveled left to right. Saturday, I had some help, got the game perfectly leveled. Since then, I've been putting up over a billion every time now.

A new strategy I've incorporated is to get all the houses lit before I start completing them. I haven't played enough with this strategy to determine if it's a good or bad way to play.

What do you mean set the clock on the game?

In the settings, you can set the date and time.

Set the time and start a game right before midnight.

#668 7 years ago
Quoted from toro1966:

Hey guys - my LE was just delivered today. Still setting it up, but noticed what appears to be a dollar bill validator cable in the coin box. Do I need to connect this, or is it only as it would seem - not needed unless I'm running a DBA? Thanks!

Anyone with any powder coated armor on the Premium?
Thinking of a light blue, white might be too much.
If anyone has pictures to share of a GOT Premium with powder coating that would be great!

The Stark Armor (sold by Stern) seems to fit the premium really well. Have you looked into it?

#703 7 years ago

Current lineup in my game room: Transformers LE, Batman Forever, Star Trek LE, GOT LE, Iron Man VE, Spidey VE, Ghostbusters LE (just got ghostbusters this week and my KISS LE is at a friend's house).

The 2 that get the most play by far by friends who come over, are Star Trek and GOT. My friends tell me that those 2 games are just the total package.

Last night, in 1 game, I got Blackwater Multiball, Wall Multiball, Castle Multiball, WIC Multiball, and Hodor Multiball...and I did not complete any houses either.

#763 7 years ago
Quoted from Phbooms:

Is there any other Multiballs in the code? Just wondering since next game i want to buy is a GOT Le/pre.

Hand of the King has a multi ball.

I don't know if the Iron Throne has a multiball, haven't gotten that far into the game yet. I'd imagine it does.

This is a great game. I really have no idea why more people in the community haven't taken a liking to it yet. My non pinhead friends love playing it. Shoots great. Probably the best launch code for recent machines. As Dwight develops the code more, it's only going to get better.

When you get it, make sure to get the spinner and sword lock decals.

#767 7 years ago
Quoted from Apollyon:

Midnight multiball - if you set your game's internal clock, it starts at midnight if you are in a game. Hodor is "mentioned" in this mode.

First time I experienced Hodor multi ball, I thought the SPIKE system took a crap. Only to be pleasantly surprised.

Quoted from gweempose:

Hey guys! I'm strongly considering joining the club with a low play LE. Before I commit to the game, however, I wanted to check to see if all of the problems that people were having with their games have been resolved. I know there were issues with the orbit divertor, VUK, throne, etc .... Can all of these things be tweaked so that the game functions like it is supposed to? I love the game, but I'd hate to pay so much money for a machine that will be frustrating to maintain. Is there anything else I should be aware of before taking the plunge?

Play test the machine first. Not every machine has issues (ie - mine).

Make sure you to get sword and spinner decals for it too.

Played the LE for a few hours last night.

How this pin has not caught on is beyond me. Great layout, great sound, and the ruleset is pretty much complete.

#826 7 years ago

One of my friends was over last night to play it (and ghostbusters).

The more they learn the rules, the more they like the game. What was nice, as he's playing it, I can sit back and learn the game better. Can't speak for others, but I find that I learn more about the rules by watching, than I do playing.

My prediction for this game: It will be just like Iron Man, where a few years, it catches on.

1 week later
#862 7 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Totally agree with this except the spinner value is only affected by the playfield multipliers and not the combo ones. The left orbit switch is affected by both, but the spinner is only affected by the playfield multipliers. Also getting 500 m per rip is amazing. I think my best tip was in the 350 million range.

How are you getting 500 million on the spinner?

#864 7 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Never seen 500 million, but 300 plus for sure. If you're running 5xplayfield and on level 4 spinner, I've been able to get 3-4 great rips on it for over 300 million a piece before the 5xtimer goes out.
Hard to really see how much you're getting if the ball goes into the pops cause the DMD cuts away from the spinner animation even though you're still getting points.

Next question, how do you get to level 4 spinner? I've seen the animations for level 1, but never realized what I did to get it.

Just more depth to the code that I didn't realize was there. Well done Dwight, well done.

Don't listen to the naysayers. Tournament guys love this machine, and so do many people here on Pinside. The bad artwork and orbit problems turned people off in the beginning and they never even gave the gameplay a chance as a result. This game will kick your ass and keep you coming back for more...and the fact that you can approach the game strategically from a 100 different angles will keep it from getting stale in your collection. Keep your order and enjoy a massively underrated game.

My pinhead and non-pinhead friends love this game. I have an LE and they all compliment the artwork.

The 2 must mods for this game are the spinner decal and sword lock decal.

I just don't get it. I played my LE for 2 hours tonight. Pure adrenaline...I haven't figured out why this game just hasn't caught on yet.

#948 7 years ago
Quoted from kermit24:

I also don't think we should stand idle when Pro owners feel the need to bash the Premium / LE to somehow justify their purchase. It's just stupid, and has created some of the perception IMO.

I'll take the upper playfield over the pro model any day. More to shoot for, more strategy. Don't forget the castle multi-ball as well.

GOT LE is one of the 2 games in my collection played the most by guests.

#953 7 years ago
Quoted from smassa:

I've owned both versions and the ramp on the pro is much faster.

Which version did you like better? Why?

If I had to guess, you're probably the only one to own both versions.

One of my friends just left. He was playing GOT LE for about an hour.

I was telling him how people in the pinball community haven't taken a liking to the game...he was just shocked.

So I was playing an LE a couple weeks ago and have a couple questions:
1. I was able to start WIC with stark even though it was not qualified yet. Threw me off on my shot patterns - This is not possible on pro. What gives? Bug?
2. Does the dragon kickback ever hold the ball like the pro, or is it a kick back only?

1 - How many houses did you light for WIC? I believe it requires 4 houses. The bonus to using Stark, is higher points with WIC and longer lit shots to qualify for WIC.

If it weren't for this site, it would make owning a machine difficult.

I'm on the side of more code is coming. In the making of video, Dwight talks about doing things on the upper playfield like killing white walkers and being able to do other things up there. For the main playfield, I think those rules are pretty much done, just need to balance the scoring out.

#1087 6 years ago

Is there any strategy to hand of the king? Meaning, are there certain houses I want to complete first?

The other day I scored 700 million on HOTK...not sure how I did that.

#1089 6 years ago

Wow. Great post! Thank you.

People cry for rules...not sure why more pinheads don't love this game.

You should do a YouTube video showing all the rules.

I always felt the code wasn't done for 2 reasons:

1 - In the making of video, Dwight has said you'll be able to kill White Walkers on the upper play field.

2 - Was either in the video, or something I read, that the the people who did Game of Thrones are huge pinball fans.

I always felt more would be added later.

#1500 4 years ago

Haven’t downloaded the new code yet, but I have 2 questions.

1 - did Dwight put in there a way to adjust the power for the ball eject into the shooter lane.

2 - is there a setting to put getting a castle back to the old way of just awarding points and not completing a mode?

#1503 4 years ago
Quoted from kilmarnock1350:

Ok, ColorDMD fans... LED or LCD?
I checked out the sample videos on http://shop.colordmd.com/led-replacement-display-for-game-of-thrones-pinball-machine/
I couldn't tell a difference between the two examples, in fact, I think it was the SAME video for both LED and LCD.
Can we discuss/ see pics?
Thanks! And love 1.36!!

I love the LED. Easier install and has a stock look/feel to it.

#1507 4 years ago
Quoted from frolic:

I don't like how bright the LED versions are. LCD is easier on my eyes, plus I run it upscaled (Scan mode) which I think makes the game look more modern.

This will lessen the brightness as well as stop the reflection on the glass.

I finally played the game with the new code on it.

WOW!!! is all I have to say. It really elevates the game.

I noticed too new colors on the playfield, for instance the Lord of Light has a rainbow effect. On the upper playfield, the multiplier has a rainbow like effect.

I noticed a lot of new callouts too.

Is there a ColorDMD update for the game with the new code?

With the whole lockdown going on, I have a lot more free time...so i decided to play some GOT.

When the updated code came out, I really didn't put that much time on it.

All I got to say, is holy crap!!!! Dwight really hit it out of the park. I set mine for random houses. I like not choosing which house, but rather, have the game choose for me. On Star Wars, I'm terrible at choosing different characters...I find it being random keeps it more interesting.

If this code were released earlier, this game would've been a huge seller.

I take a long toothbrush, cut rags into small pieces. Put small piece of rag at the end in order to reach up in those hard to reach places.

I know it’s not perfect, but I figure the more areas I can keep clean, the mess amount of times I’ll need to take the upper playfield off.

#1765 3 years ago
Quoted from Gogdog:

Ok, went and picked up the pin!
First thing I did, was install the Stern quiet fan mod (luckily I had an extra), and install 1.37. Then, you were all right, it was pretty easy to get the upper PF off. But man, it was dirty! Not sure if the previous owner ever cleaned it but ...I do know these get dirty quickly. Menu says only 450 plays but you never know the truth there.
[quoted image]
Of course...when I saw the condition of all the ramps and PF black dust under plastics....I just had to keep going and did a full PF teardown.
[quoted image]
So...that took about...8-10 hours. I just want to play though! Got her cleaned and waxed though ->
[quoted image]
Took 4 microfiber towels (using both sides) to get 'er done though.
[quoted image]
Some thoughts:
1. This pin was on the harder end of PF tear downs. Mainly...just way more screws than I thought should be there (13 screws for the large plastic under the upper PF? ). And like for light cleaning, making things like the ramp plastic turn covers unremovable stinks. Since there are nuts on the bottom, you have to remove the entire ramp to remove the covering.
[quoted image]
Compared to a newer IMDN, where it takes 5 seconds to remove the cover ->
[quoted image]
2. I cleaned the lower PF flippers just like normal. But the only thing I didn't clean on this teardown was the upper PF flippers. How in the world am I supposed to take those flippers apart and then retighten them? Its hard enough cleaning the thing without breaking plastics. But it seems like I need some kind of 4 post contraption to screw the PF onto temporarily to elevate it so I have enough room to tighten/adjust the flippers?
[quoted image]
3. Iron Throne.
a. Where is the ball supposed to land after it gets pushed out? Looks like mine just hits the plastic just south of the southern most bumper (south being towards player).
b. Are there supposed to be nuts on the top of these posts?
[quoted image]
4. I've already changed the menu settings to re-enable left orbits. However...they still don't work, so I'm going to have to do the diverter fix. However, just for testing...are left orbits pass-through only during Martell battle and any time the left orbit has a red flashing light for a combo? Or is there another time when left orbits also are supposed to work?
5. Got 'er done!
[quoted image]

You need to get the spinner sticker and the sticker for the sword lock plate.

I'm not one for mods, but they look stock.

#1767 3 years ago
Quoted from Gogdog:

I knew about the sword lock plate sticker...not the spinner sticker though. Yeah, I guess the original spinner looks like it should be on star trek or something.
The sword lock plate is odd though...I have no idea what its even doing there. I don't see what it could be protecting from. I have half a mind to just remove it (unless someone tells me its use).
Also... I just realized that the slingshot/lane plastic protectors that came with this pin (but not installed), that I went ahead and put on are actually for the Pro. They also seem extra wide/thick. I'll have to decide to live with it or not.
Lastly....is there a known issue with the autolaunch? 50% of the time the ball hits something and rattles around right before the right orbit success switch. Its probably been happening for a while since the two small plastics to the right of the rightmost pop bumper are cracked.

I was kind of wondering why those plastics weren't matching. They're thick cause of the plastic protectors under them. You should call your rep and see if you can order those plastics only directly from Stern. You're gonna want a different colored protector, the brown won't work with the blue plastics.

IMO, the sword plate is so when you raise and lower the playfield, the sword doesn't catch the side.

#1784 3 years ago
Quoted from Antron77:

Thanks! Just bought both.

Make sure you order the premium sets for your game.

#1800 3 years ago
Quoted from Gogdog:

Is there a known issue with balls immediately falling out of the Iron Throne? Sometimes I will get a streak where the ball will fall into the throne but immediately falls out. Its not getting hit by the plunger I don't think.
From above it looks like the plastic throne is not centered over the metal ...is there an adjustment for that?
[quoted image]

Try to lower the ramp as close as you can to the throne. When I first got my game, the ball would constantly fall out. Then lowering it as much as I could, it hasn’t fallen out once. There’s 2 screws/bolts that hold it in place.

#1809 3 years ago
Quoted from Gogdog:

Lately I've been getting stuck balls here on the upper PF. Anybody else get these frequently? They are all from the upper PF (i.e., its getting trapped from ball action from the upper PF). (and yes, I do realize I currently don't have the metal ramp flap screwed down). [quoted image]

Take a slow mo video of that metal piece. Maybe when you hit the ramp, that meta piece is raising off the upper playfield, this slowing the ball down. Just a thought.

I’m watching thrones from the beginning with my girlfriend. She’s never seen the series.

I got to say, it’s so well written.

#2139 1 year ago
Quoted from atum:

It starts out line for line excerpts from the books, and that is hard to beat as far as writing is concerned. Once they get out on their own, the level of attention to detail and tie-ins drops in place of really cool and fun scenes. It just changes a bit. But House of the Dragon has been great all around so far. Hoping it continues to be strong.

It's awesome rewatching everything again. I saw it the first time, when the series ended, I went back and watched the series over. That was 2 or 3 years ago, now I'm watching it a 3rd time. All the details just come flying off the screen.

Literally, every 15 min Utes, I'm pausing the show to explain what's going on....of course if she would put her fucking phone down, I wouldn't need to explain as much.

#2141 1 year ago
Quoted from Saltimbanco:

I literally can't watch the ending of Deanerys, or Cercei nor the Night King' death. What were the writers thinking?!!.. felt like the ending of The Mentalist all over. Underwelming ending of so many arcs, too many unexplained stuff.

It’s pretty cool at this point, that she has no idea that Little Finger is behind everything.

We are halfway through season 2.

#2144 1 year ago
Quoted from beelzeboob:

Nope. Loved it loved it loved it. Even better when you stream all the seasons at once like Trekkie is doing.

What’s great about doing it all at once, everything is fresh in the mind.

We just finished season 2 tonight.

Girlfriend’s reaction so far:

- rob stark getting married isn’t good.

- Theon will get his head cut off by rob stark.

- why is stanis still listening to the red woman.

- she didn’t understand Arya’s list….had to explain it.

#2151 1 year ago

So we got to the red wedding yesterday.

She didn't see it coming at all.

Next is Geoffrey....she thought Rob Stark would be cutting off his head....she has no clue what's coming.

I must say, it's been a bit difficult trying to explain things up to the point where she is. She hasn't figured out yet that Littlefinger is behind everything. I'm trying not to give anything away.

How did you get LE armor?

#2163 1 year ago
Quoted from mjmpin:

Question for all the GOT owners, I anticipate that most of you (like me) really enjoy this game, and one of the reasons is the unique and complex opportunity to play it as different houses each time which expands the experience (like playing different games!)
I have been looking for commentary on this topic, but can't really find a lot so thought I'd just ask & get some thoughts & opinions. I have a GOT premium, have had it for ~ 1.5 years. It is my favorite of 8 pins.
What other pins exist that share a similarity in code/rules where you can play as different characters or as different whatever that lends to the playing experience being notably different? I characterize my pins as either; non complex, complex but singular (ie LOTR) or complex and varied (ie GOT).
And I'd like to find more like the latter! I have Star Wars and there is a "slight similarity". But what other pins are like this that you would recommend looking at?
thanks!

Star Wars might be the closest.

Transformers could have the argument made.

JJP's Pirates...but I'm not a fan of the game.

On my GOT, I have the houses set to random. I prefer the game deciding for me, instead of me deciding every time. What ended up happening, is that I would just play Stark and not the others. I like that little feature. I wouldn't mind that on Star Wars too.

#2165 1 year ago
Quoted from mjmpin:

yeah, I anticipate it may be a short list
agree on pirates, but I'm not a fan of widebody machines & obtaining a JJP pirates is $$$ unrealistic too
will research transformers a bit, thanks! Also wondering about simpsons or TMNT ?? never played either

With Transformers, you can play as a Deception or Autobot.

The real difference comes with the multi-balls. As a Deception, you battle Optimus. As an Autobot, you work with Optimus.

It is nice, being able to choose different sides. Different music, callouts, rules. IMO, a very underrated game.

Quoted from DownSouthPinball:

Hello everyone. New LE owner here. I just noticed on my upper playfield the lights and switches don’t seem to be working. The flipper works and the dragon lights up occasionally, but not the lights and not the switches. In fact, when I’m playing up there, the “ball search” mode starts kicking in looking for the lost ball. Vuk works, flippers work without issue. I searched the thread looking for a similar post and didn’t see one, so sorry if this has already been addressed. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure everything is plugged in from the upper to lower. I believe it’s 4 Molex connectors.

You may have to take off the upper playfield to see.

New to the club with a premium.
Question on the iron throne as it comes off the metal habit trail. Is the ball supposed to sit there and then eventually eject?
On mine, the ball bounces off of the throne and goes directly into the pops. Doesn’t seem right.

Loosen the ramp, lower the right part as low to the tribe as possible. It’s just 2 screws that hold it.
