Well after a few months of searching I found my new project which is a ft that sat dormant for 8-10 years. It was pretty dirty but a quick wipedown at sellers revealed a nice playfield . Game had few errors and the usual stuff you wld expect but after getting her home and messing with it all night shes working 100 percent and looks like its going to turn out to be a pretty nice ft.also guy never had glass off or batteries changed but there was no corrision and boards are very clean .I attached some pics after a little clean up but no way near done and this baby will shine very nice once again. 20150309_021716.jpg20150309_021716.jpg20150309_021850.jpg20150309_021850.jpg20150309_021939.jpg20150309_021939.jpg20150309_022015.jpg20150309_022015.jpg20150309_022217.jpg20150309_022217.jpg20150309_022254.jpg20150309_022254.jpg20150309_022428.jpg20150309_022428.jpg20150309_022824.jpg20150309_022824.jpg20150309_022853.jpg20150309_022853.jpg20150309_142814.jpg20150309_142814.jpg

Quoted from CaptainNeo:

Congratulations, Should turn out to be some good trade bait for the future when it's done.
What is going on with those flippers? Why do they look so funky?

I dont know something is odd with them haven't really dug in yet just cleaned up a bit and got everything working but they have they correct bats lol.what do u see?

Quoted from Cash_Riprock:

That pin should have the 'slightly shorter' Lightning flippers

It does bad pic lol

#11 9 years ago

Something seems weird on flippers tho bc I have a bsd also and these seem to go up higher they probably have wrong coil stop ? Unless ft is supposed to be like that ?

#12 9 years ago
Quoted from Fifty:

[EDIT] I'm an idiot. Duh.

No it was hard to see in my pics sorry

#13 9 years ago

Well whatever retail place sold this pin to the guy didn't have the correct coil stops or eos swithes in I thought the flippers were traveling to high lol other than that its pretty dang nice pin

#16 9 years ago
Quoted from Tensikka:

Some basic info about flippermechs: http://www.pinballnews.com/learn/flippers/index5.html
If you build with factory-designed parts, then you can achieve that feel to game what was intended.

Cool thax, luckily I have all the correct parts on hand to fix it correctly

Quoted from TunaSled:

Good find. I adore my FT, a keeper for sure. Get some yellow lightning flippers on there.

It has them just bad pic lol

#21 9 years ago
Quoted from Carl_694:

Was t this the one on Mr pinball?

Not sure ive seen 3 or 4 of them for sale all over in the last few days

#23 9 years ago
Quoted from Pinfidel:

Congrats D! LOVE FT. A little elbow grease will have that baby looking super nice.

Yea tearing it down now it had alot of wrong parts in the flipper mechs but other than that everything is pretty nice compared to most fishtales I have looked at and played . This is my favorite part bringing a pin back from living a slow dieing life

#24 9 years ago
Quoted from MotorCityMatt:

What did you pay for it? Nice pickup!!

More than I would have liked to pay considering I wasn't sure of all the issues but luckily I fixed most everything without having to buy much and just need put in all the time now which I have right now so no big deal . I think once its done it sld be worth around 2250-2500? If thats the case I sld break even and have a nice ft so that sld give you a idea of what I paid .

#26 9 years ago
Quoted from Carl_694:

If its the one I saw, was listed for 1999.

I guess not because thats not what this person was asking nor what I paid I contacted numerous adds that were in a reasonable distance on cl

Quoted from Jaybird815:

Nice score BigD I love my fish tales! It's not goin anywhere

Thax cant wait to see how it plays with clean surface and new rubbers because it played like crap lol but I still liked it it will be a good fit in my collection now just need dr who to have the lighting flipper brothers lol. Is the ft topper ridiculously loud especially with cover off?

#30 9 years ago
Quoted from Jaybird815:

It's not too loud, my 2 pins are in my heated garage, though. And I like it loud Yeah I have 2 pins FT and BSD, so I'm on the Lightning flipper thing, too. Don't forget about Popeye in the lightning club

Yea I love widebody pins also but popeye is not one I want to own I cld have purchased it several times but I didn't. Id probably take one for 1250 but that be the only way

#32 9 years ago
Quoted from Jaybird815:

Yeah there's so many other games Id rather have than Popeye, never played Dr. Who yet.

Dr who is pretty cool im so mad bc I had 2 times I could have purchased it for under 2k and well now u cant lol

#33 9 years ago

Quoted from Floyd:

Nice looking playing field. No real noticeable wear around the stringer. Congratulations! I love my FT

Nope there really isnt any wear at alll just little insert edge wear and the green inserts are little faded but for a ft its one of the better ive seen fof sure

#36 9 years ago

#37 9 years ago
