GNR is finally finished!!! Only took me two years, off and on to finish it.

This machine was given to me. Head had what looked like fire damage and it didn't work. PF and bottom cabinet was in great shape. Translite was missing.

When I first got it it wouldn't power up. Replace several SMC's and got it to boot.
Re-flowed the solder on all the boards.
Pulled, cleaned and checked every socketed chip.
    Chased countless electrical issues.
    Ordered new translite.
Pulled the PF stripped and cleaned.
    Replaced a couple TIP36C's & TIP 102's.
    Chased more electrical issues.
    New translite was destroyed.
    Ordered yet another..
    Replace cabinet bottom.
Repaired all 8 of the DMD lines that were out.
Repaired head damage , sanded & primed.
    Repainted artwork on head.
    Translite came in today.
Called glass shop and had glass cut.

IT's alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Having a hard time figuring which machine's going to leave the lineup to make space for it.... In the meantime, I set it up in the livingroom so it can get some playtime....

I'll snap a few pics in a bit.... Need to take a break..Figured I'd throw a couple more next to it for the Superbowl party.Grabbed two from the gameroom lineup and one from storage and put them in the livingroom, two others from storage are filling the recently empty spots in the gameroom lineup... Damn I hate moving these things!!!!

Awesome to hear, and inspiring for me!! I have a Gorgar that had fire damage that I'm determined to bring back to life. It's currently sitting in my garage (waiting for some of the "on" of the "Off and On" time). I picked it up a couple years ago and started by scrounging up the parts that were missing (some CPU boards and transformer). I had to rebuild the cabinet from scratch (still working on finishing the cabinet stencils by hand tracing the old ones). The playfield is in great shape though and I have all the other parts (I hope). Just gotta put it back together.

I'll keep ya'll posted when the time comes (don't hold your breath though. I just started back to school and I have more "Off" than "On" right now).

Can't wait to see your pics. Thanks for the inspiration!!

Got around to taking some pics. Learned a few things while doing it.. 1- camera won't use flash when batts need recharged, sorry for the low light exposures. 2- Kickout plastic's not going to cut it. 3- Need to print out some new cards that I have D/Ld.
