NOTA

#109 4 years ago
Quoted from Tranquilize:

lets see a list of the worst games in the last ten years.

I thought most were already included in this battle of

"The all time games pinsiders have spent the most money on"

#117 4 years ago
Quoted from colonel_caverne:

What happens if tie match at the end?

Sell them both and buy something good.

Quoted from metallik:

IJ is blah. Owned it for years.

It sucked in the arcade, and it sucks even more in a home environment. Almost, but not quite as bad as totan.

#134 4 years ago
Quoted from PtownPin:

I'd love to know your top 4-5 games of all time

I have owned many games in these polls, but most went down the road some time ago.

I love every game I now own and that spans from the mid 50s all the way into the 2000s.

As far as modern games that these polls seem to represent, for me, the game doesn't have to be highly rated especially since I obviously came from a different background than those that made the pinside top 100 what it is, but it has to have attitude, or something that I can relate to, look good enough to fit in with my theory, and be fun to play. So, of this particular era of games mine are-

T-2
Dirty Harry
Judge Dredd
No Fear and most recently
High Roller Casino

And I might soon be picking up another Nascar. I know, I have very expensive tastes.

#136 4 years ago
Quoted from PtownPin:

I've only played T-2 and Judge Dredd on your list....they were both fun pins

And they both have the attitude I need. Not many do.

High Roller Casino turns out to be a diamond in the rough with a gambling theme, cool music, a fully loaded playfield with a roulette wheel and a slot machine, and rules by the master himself, Keefer. Didn't know it at first, but it is indeed a keeper.

#138 4 years ago
Quoted from m00nmuppet:

This is very true. Hugely underrated pin.

A lot of games get highly rated because of exposure I'd imagine, and I don't think there are many of these out there. I find it more satisfying and fun to play than say LOTR or TSPP, two more massed produced games from around the same time.

One thing is for sure, the playfield is solid as a rock as most from that time seem to be. No cratering, chipping, or peeling. None of that.

#149 4 years ago
Quoted from Krupps4:

I’m really intrigued by No Fear making your Top 5. What about it makes it so highly rated in your collection?

The total adrenaline rush it gives me each time I play it. Super fast with a rocking soundtrack and sports I can relate too.

Even the video mode gets me pumped jumping the dirt tracks at places like Anaheim Stadium.

Best game from 1995 for me. Steve Ritchie was very proud of it, and it is one of my favorites of his.

#151 4 years ago
Quoted from beergut666:

and a machine that definitely has that "one more game" appeal.

Especially late at night. One more game until I can't stand anymore, or one more game until I can't hit anything anymore. But when I do get the thing going, the ball is a blur.

And this guy right here is too cool for school.

Quoted from cpr9999:

JP wins it all cuz we are in the honeymoon phase!

Talk about protecting a recent investment.

#161 4 years ago

JP could still be on top in two years if they don't make another new game.

#164 4 years ago
Quoted from pinballjj:

LOTR owner but played quite a few games on JP pro when it first came out , very fun but I never thought " this is the best game ever" .

I played JP when it first came out and thought "This is almost as easy as LOTR, will this ball ever drain!"

#166 4 years ago
Quoted from rwmech5:

Without sports this is really great how close the votes are here.

This is like sports now. Seems nobody wants to watch a 15 year old baseball game.

#168 4 years ago
Quoted from yancy:

What’s your high score on that easy game?

I quit after one ball and did not even care to look.

I know what is fun for me, and that is not it.

#171 4 years ago
Quoted from PtownPin:

I don't know I enjoyed watching the old Masters highlights, and the USC vs Northwestern Rose Bowl last night

I'm still waiting for them to bring back the monster trucks from 1989.

Watching the Giants beat the Patriots again has kind of lost it's luster.

#177 4 years ago
Quoted from Doctor6:

The one thing we learned is all four of these games are effing amazing.

I don't know about "we", sir.

#182 4 years ago

The whole result of this is just a classic example of the short attention span and herd mentality that is pinside. Disagree with the mob and they would like to throw you to the wolves.

It's been fun gentlemen.

#184 4 years ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

Still voted MM, as it's just been on top of all the polls w TZ for so long ( well, except for odin... .)

I enjoyed MM in the arcade and the short time I had it.

But I can only hit that castle gate so many more times. The scoring was fairly balanced though. Those ramps with the no risk rollbacks, not so much.

I do know as a rule, most pinsiders prefer games that they can have super long ball times so they can explore the depths of the rules and perhaps enter and beat the wizard mode. Not that unlike a video game.

#185 4 years ago
Quoted from Doctor6:

Dude, those four games are amazing.

To you. Maybe at one time at least two of them were for me. Long time ago.

#188 4 years ago

I'll give JP this. At least they chose a theme from the 90s instead of one from the 80s or prior. Super modern.

#190 4 years ago
Quoted from chubtoad13:

Seems like they all win.

And the people that pay less and buy something else also win.

#195 4 years ago
Quoted from Vino:

Absolutely, but that’s not this thread OD.

Yes, it's about the people that pay the most for games, not less. Sorry, I forgot.

Which reminds me, when I sold my HEP MM for $20k, it not only paid for my melanoma surgery, it also got me two super nice examples of other games including the nicest BK2K I'd ever seen, and had plenty of dough leftover to look for something else.

#197 4 years ago
Quoted from PtownPin:

Its really a dinosaur theme

Agreed.

-2
#200 4 years ago

A few more Rick and Mortys out there with complete assets from the show, and this might have been a real competition.

-2
#202 4 years ago

It kinda sucks when they use outdated, bargain basement themes, and they won't even pony up to get the actual actors to do the voices.

It'll probably be even worse after all this with the pinball companies struggling to stay alive. At least those that do survive.

-1
#206 4 years ago
Quoted from Doctor6:

You've been super negative the past few pages for no reason.

You're being super negative right now.

You don't have to agree with me, but is it really necessary to be bossy or some kinda control freak?

-3
#215 4 years ago
Quoted from yancy:

Is it necessary to complain about dated themes and anything less than a Hollywood caliber asset package in every thread?

On the other hand, it really gets tiring reading people over and over saying how great this shit is when it really sucks ass.

Yes, we get it already.

#217 4 years ago
Quoted from Doctor6:

when even Jack Danger struggles to hit shots over and over, it makes me worry how clunky it may be?

Jack who?

Quoted from delt31:

And o-din is just a grumpy old man now.

Sure, and I'll play circles around all you young whippersnappers as long as I don't have to play some snoozefest that's going to take 40 minutes.

#219 4 years ago

Honestly, I'm sorry if I hurt any of your feelings over your prized mechanical machines.

And remember, in this day and age, to spare you some tears, everybody gets a trophy!

#221 4 years ago

Anybody that takes me seriously and gets butthurt because I don't like what they do should know better by now.

These greatest of all time threads do strike a nerve though. I'd spam the shit out of the pinside top 100 if it would just go away.

I've got better things to do, so I'll just leave you guys be to bask in your glory.

#225 4 years ago
Quoted from Astropin:

The o-din doth protest too much, methinks

I guess I used them up a while ago.

But don't I get to do it again each time they come out with another one?

I'm sure there are plenty of noobs here that need a dose too.

#229 4 years ago
Quoted from metallik:

Do I need to remind everyone of when you were simultaneously bashing Metallica as "old man pinball" while praising Batman66 as a tribute to classic TV

Well, that's not exactly how it happened, but at least I didn't buy into The Munsters.

#234 4 years ago

Glad to see I'm not the only one getting down votes in this thread.

A few here and a few there helps restore balance.

#248 4 years ago
Quoted from cpr9999:

I tried to vote but the system locked me out.
This is an outrage - recount - revote!!

Come vote in my poll.

#253 4 years ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

was playing X-Men Magneto

I think I'd rather play that one.

#258 4 years ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

Game is stupid fun...

I know. NimblePin had one. Kinda stupid fun that I like. But he could also make an Avengers play good enough to want one.
