Good Evening Pinsiders,

It's Final Four time. LOTR pulled an upset, beating the #1 overall seed, PoTC. Twilight Zone came so close, allowing Medieval Madness to survive. Attack From Mars showed consistency once again. Last but not least, Jurassic Park continues eating its competition for breakfast.

Voting will end at 10pm EST/7pm PST on Friday night. Stats, results, and bracket are below.

For those of you who missed how this started, or are not familiar with the rules, please see this post:

Quoted from MK6PIN:

I think MM and JP make it through ....another huge battle for MM though, and LOTR has been crazy consistent as well.
The winning by manufacturer % is getting further wacked though, as they eat each other, causing the winners to actually be penalized.

MK6PIN - you really are going to make me do non-cannibalism stats, aren't you?

Fact - 2019 NCAA tournament; Big Ten teams Minnesota and Michigan State played each other in the Round of 32. They counted both the win and loss of that game into the Big Ten's overall record inthe tournament.

Quoted from freeplay3:

If Medevial loses to Attack, I will then always wonder, how would Twilight held up against Attack in the final four.

You could start a new thread by asking - AFM or TZ?

#20 4 years ago
Quoted from lpeters82:

It really depends how you vote. In a lineup AFM is more easily replaced by some other really good fan layouts. TZ is more unique, however if you give me only one game it's probably going to be AFM.

I think you're right with your thought process. All of these games have unique features that make them great for different reasons.

I would choose AFM, because the theme, simple layout, and bash toy. It appeals to most of my friends and family; whom are all novices in pinball. They don't care if a game is deep - they just love simplicity and fun.

#26 4 years ago

Who has all four of these games currently in their lineup?

First off, you're ballin'.

Secondly, which of the four is the best game in your opinion?

#33 4 years ago

Mid week, mid afternoon bump.

#44 4 years ago

48 hours until voting closes.

AFM over MM by a slim margin; LOTR is currently taming Jurassic Park.

As soon as I say something, everyone votes for MM and JP over the next 30 minutes.

#87 4 years ago

I haven't looked at this thread all morning - Jurassic Park is now ahead by four votes? Wow, that escalated quickly.

#91 4 years ago
Quoted from freeplay3:

Just seen that over a hundred more people voted in this round already then in round one.

Stern must have had a mid-morning meeting; telling everyone to log into Pinside and vote before heading back to work.

Just seen that over a hundred more people voted in this round already then in round one. Would have been nice if everyone had seen it earlier and voted. Could have changed how this turned out...maybe.

Okay everyone - I'm cancelling this round's vote. We're starting all over... Haha!

Quoted from freeplay3:

If only you had closed the poll down. Probably for the best that you didn't. You may have woke up in the morning with a horse head in bed next to you.

I wouldn't really know how Pinsiders feel about this bracket voting until I take it away from them. Haha!

What happens if tie match at the end?

Going to rule 31B, section F, sub-section T - "If these is a tie, the higher seed moves on."

Pinside is crushing it on this thread from a marketing standpoint.

All I see are sale ads for LOTR (with everyone's favorite - "Tasteful" mods), or mods for JP.

Where is some love for AFM or MM? Or better yet... where is Pinstadium?

#139 4 years ago

24 hours left to vote!

#141 4 years ago

A quick FYI - once voting ends tomorrow night, I will get the next round up and running afterward as quickly as I can. Voting in the championship round will end Monday night at 10pm EST/7pm PST.

Also, I'm looking for a little feedback from Pinsiders: For the championship round, should I hide the poll results and publish them Monday night when the poll closes? My thought is, if it is a potential blowout, see that over the next three days would take the fun out of it. Also, a good mystery always drives speculation.

Thoughts?

#144 4 years ago
Quoted from Astropin:

I'm all for it...keep it exciting until the big reveal.

Thank you for the feedback. I think it will keep more people interested.

#155 4 years ago

Final day of voting. Ends tonight.

#173 4 years ago

Wow, how close is this voting?

MM 250 to AFM 248

JP 259 to LOTR 255

#187 4 years ago

JP and LOTR are officially tied at 263 apiece.

#192 4 years ago

Is there anyone left on Pinside that can vote?

#216 4 years ago
Quoted from pinballOsp:

When the voting is THIS close... really hard to consider any winner here IMO. There should just be 4 machines at the top

Quoted from cpr9999:

I tried to vote but the system locked me out.
This is an outrage - recount - revote!!

You only had three days to do so.

#254 4 years ago

Okay guys - a handful of announcements...

1. Several Pinsiders mentioned they would like to have a 3rd place voting thread - you got it. Give me a few minutes to start it.

2. I will get the finals thread up as soon as possible. I will have it up no later than 10am EST/7am PST. It could be even up tonight.

3. Voting is going to be hidden until voting closes Monday night. Just in case there is a blowout, we want to make sure we keep the last round suspenseful.

4. Voting will end Monday night at 10pm EST/7pm PST (cpr9999 - don't forget to vote!)

5. Thanks to everyone who has favorite(d), followed, voted, commented over the last couple of weeks. This has been fun.

#277 4 years ago

New poll will be up in less than an hour, thanks for your patience.

#279 4 years ago

The Finals voting is now open. I was unable to "hide" the vote till Monday, so we'll keep the results open. Enjoy!
