Quoted from beergut666:

and a machine that definitely has that "one more game" appeal.

Especially late at night. One more game until I can't stand anymore, or one more game until I can't hit anything anymore. But when I do get the thing going, the ball is a blur.

And this guy right here is too cool for school.

Quoted from Daditude:

MM and AFM are in a dead heat!

They are in such a dead heat, I honestly cannot remember which I voted for......

JP vs. LotR, I voted LotR, but that was me voting with my heart, and for all the great memories playing that machine over the years.....voting with my head, I'd probably go JP...maybe even as #1...

#154 3 years ago

JP pro and premium (or was it LE?) at the Dutch Pinball Open last year with early code had nice shots, but I thought they were meh just like the Munsters and Elvira there.. Also the sound was turned down.

The voting in this poll tells me I should give it another shot
Anywhere in the Netherlands I can play it when this corona stuff is over?

#155 3 years ago

Final day of voting. Ends tonight.

#156 3 years ago
Quoted from AFM95:

Or better yet... where is Pinstadium?

I beg you...please don't open that door...

Your answer- everywhere on everything prior to a minor uproar to tame it down. Thankfully it ( partially) worked. One more rainbow ramp.....

Back to the battle...MM has started the day well...

Gonna B close!!

JP wins it all cuz we are in the honeymoon phase! It is good in all machine, but will it stands the test of time? I remember when people said Iron Maiden was the best of all time - seems to have faded a bit.

I guess we will see in the future.

Talk about protecting a recent investment.

Quoted from cpr9999:

I still say that two years later. JP could very well top it for me if I had better aim. Layout is just a smidge too brutal for my skill level.

#161 3 years ago

JP could still be on top in two years if they don't make another new game.

Thats funny!

LOTR owner but played quite a few games on JP pro when it first came out , very fun but I never thought " this is the best game ever" . I guess I will have to revisit on a premium running the latest code.

I see LOTR is lagging but do I need to remind everyone that LOTR has the best shot in all of pinball?

DESTROY THE RING ( 2 ball setting) , the build up qualifying shots the music ,call outs and lighting set a great mood and the final shot is so satisfying during any game but to achieve in a game to get to valinor EPIC!!

Does JP have anything that comes close to this? not as far as I can tell..... sooo

LOTR FOR THE WIN!

I played JP when it first came out and thought "This is almost as easy as LOTR, will this ball ever drain!"

#165 3 years ago

Without sports this is really great how close the votes are here.

This is like sports now. Seems nobody wants to watch a 15 year old baseball game.

What’s your high score on that easy game?

Quoted from yancy:

I quit after one ball and did not even care to look.

I know what is fun for me, and that is not it.

#169 3 years ago

ESPN should make a deal and broadcast the Taiwanese pro league games on now. Those fake fans and background crowd noise looks epic.

I don't know I enjoyed watching the old Masters highlights, and the USC vs Northwestern Rose Bowl last night

I'm still waiting for them to bring back the monster trucks from 1989.

Watching the Giants beat the Patriots again has kind of lost it's luster.

I did enjoy watching the Niners beat the Bengals in the Super Bowl last week .... especially the part where the game was condensed down to one hour

#173 3 years ago

Wow, how close is this voting?

MM 250 to AFM 248

JP 259 to LOTR 255

#174 3 years ago

Is it really that close between MM and AFM that 74 voters couldn’t pick between the two and left it blank?

#175 3 years ago
Quoted from TheShaft:

It could be. I know it was a super close call for me.

#176 3 years ago

I was always under the impression everyone loved AFM more than MM? Now we know they really are neck and neck. This is one hell of a semi final. The one thing we learned is all four of these games are effing amazing.

Love my AFMr....wanted MM for a long time...bailed on my MMrRE as timing couldn't be worse, sadly. Couldn't buy it, when I was having to layoff some of my office staff..bad vibe...

Still voted MM, as it's just been on top of all the polls w TZ for so long ( well, except for @odin... .)

If you've owned them both you can see why....they have very similar characteristics, and both very fun to play.

The funny thing is that usually, these polls fall into line with the Pinside top 100(in spite of all the criticism it takes).

The whole result of this is just a classic example of the short attention span and herd mentality that is pinside. Disagree with the mob and they would like to throw you to the wolves.

It's been fun gentlemen.

I enjoyed MM in the arcade and the short time I had it.

But I can only hit that castle gate so many more times. The scoring was fairly balanced though. Those ramps with the no risk rollbacks, not so much.

I do know as a rule, most pinsiders prefer games that they can have super long ball times so they can explore the depths of the rules and perhaps enter and beat the wizard mode. Not that unlike a video game.

I can't tell how often i choke that shot. i can hit it all day long but when its all on the line and gollum is dangling from the cliff my knees go weak and i get a flustered. i need a pin psychologist to treat me.

#187 3 years ago

JP and LOTR are officially tied at 263 apiece.

#188 3 years ago

I'll give JP this. At least they chose a theme from the 90s instead of one from the 80s or prior. Super modern.

#189 3 years ago

Seems like they all win.

Absolutely, but that’s not this thread OD.
All good fun, poking at the bees nest!

it sounds like you are having trouble completing the wizard mode on the greatest pinball machine of all time .

tell me more...…..

#195 3 years ago
Quoted from Vino:

Absolutely, but that’s not this thread OD.

Yes, it's about the people that pay the most for games, not less. Sorry, I forgot.

Which reminds me, when I sold my HEP MM for $20k, it not only paid for my melanoma surgery, it also got me two super nice examples of other games including the nicest BK2K I'd ever seen, and had plenty of dough leftover to look for something else.

Its really a dinosaur theme versus JP....they only use the logo and theme song so saying its a JP game is a stretch

JJPOTC is equally light on franchise assets.
Doesn’t seem to matter, fans love them.
LOTR will be tough to beat.

A few more Rick and Mortys out there with complete assets from the show, and this might have been a real competition.
