Apparently punched a hole in my MDF cabinet bottom when moving one of my pins. Hole is an oval about 1" wide and 2" long. No structural damage - everything else fine. Went straight through. Hole is a little wider inside than on the bottom. Inside of cabinet is painted black so would want repair paintable.

Obviously you can't see it, but I'd still like to repair. I was thinking of using some two part wood epoxy (the Minwax stuff) to repair. Thoughts?

Its best to thicken 3-to-1 or 5-to-1 Epoxy with sawdust or Cabosil to make a paste that won't run or slump. When about cured shave it flat to minimize sanding time.

Epoxied with a bit of sawdust in it, as recommended, and put a light coat of flat paint matched to the color of the wood. Can't tell it was ever damaged unless you know exactly where to look. And even then, very subtle.
