I’m restoring a Gottlieb Central Park and it has a deep gouge right next to an insert. How should I fill in the divot/gap? Bondo, fiber glass filler, something else? Just wanted to get some opinions before I start in addressing the gap.

QuikWood is a product that works well in this situation. Its available from Pinball Life, Amazon, etc. JB Weld makes a similar product called Kwikwood. If you do a forum search for either QuikWood or Kwikwood you can see a lot of example uses.

DON'T use Bondo. I've never had success with bondo standing up to moving a pinball machine... I can't imagine it would do well with a metal ball running over it.
I'd defiantly try a epoxy based wood filler like suggested by ReadyPO.
Are you going to decal over this or something else?

I've used kwikwood for patching up hogged out areas on playfields before installing cliffy protectors. Granted, they have the metal protector covering the area to protect it, but the kwikwood has held up, even for games on route.

In this case, I'd probably recommend throwing mylar over it when you're done.

Finally got around to working on filling the gap. I used Kwikwood and it filled in pretty easily with a plastic putty knife. Letting it dry now and will lightly, carefully sand the small area.

Are you still missing a section near the 4?
Or is that an optical illusion?

Optical/paint issues.
