I just received my cabinets from Paul at virtuapin, and I am blown away. I ordered 3 cabinets and was a little skeptical if they would be up to my standards as I am pretty picky and they were. I have all of these games ready for full restorations all games getting full chrome, and also a all gold TOTAN to finish up now. I would say that I will never, never, ever sand cabinets again after seeing these. I have tried to order from DH quite a few times but got tired of no response and someone suggested Paul. Do not hesitate to order these I know I will in the future. I will post each individual restoration on these games for you to see how to swap over cabinet parts, also some of my restoration are linked underneath to see all of the work that goes into cabinets that I will never do again.

Front corners where decals come together ?

#5 9 years ago

Nice. I was on the fence about ordering from them, but this is great..!

Post more pictures when you can!

yes. I've considered ordering from them but this is the first I have seen a finished product and would like to see how nicely finished the corners are.

#7 9 years ago

I will get some more photos when I get them up on legs, I was hesitant about ordering as we'll but had no choice with corvette but to go new so if figured in for one might as we'll be in for 3, I need to find a beater tz now I just ordered a cabinet because I sold mine and should not have. I will say I have not seen better decal corners they are perfect

#8 9 years ago

which packages did you buy, did you have to provide the artwork?

The price for installing the decals is very reasonable as well. hmmm…...

#10 9 years ago

Here are the corner photos keep in mind the white showing is because I have to use flash as its dark outside, and these are priced 1/2 of Doug Huse and I actually received these in a timely manner. Also I am extremely picky and I think they could not have turned out better.

Btw Taylor I am going to need rails for FH, and Corvette shortly also a must do for restoration

#12 9 years ago

is there any bevel to them or are they just straight cut? Are the edges touched up with black paint or is the white the edge of the decal?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm in the middle of a DW restore and the cab is hanging over my head.

#14 9 years ago

Is he providing the artwork? Is it licensed? Screened or inkjet? Does he have a site?

He got Tz, and ,FH both licensed corvette I sent him that I got from................well I got them from somewhere undisclosed location

#17 9 years ago

You're giving me ideas! My TZ has a fantastic playfield, but the cab is showing it's age and some wear. Might just order a new cabinet!

Do you mind me asking the price range for the widebody TZ with decals? And do you know if the decals are printed or silk screened?

Also, are the yellow letters on the back of the cab screened on or die cut vinyl letters?

#18 9 years ago

Also, who makes the best TZ decals?

#19 9 years ago

The Tz decals are Nexgen decals the same ones I put on my last Tz, you can get them from planetary pinball very thick and look great. Also just shoot Paul a email or call him and tell him how complete you want it to be it all depends but I feel very inexpensive

Google virtualpin he has a site to check out all cabinets are listed, also he just gets the decals from planetary

#21 9 years ago

Where did you get the FH decals from? I didn't see FH on the website.

#22 9 years ago

Phoenix Arcade has FH artwork and his stuff is good quality. $290 + shipping:

I will also give GREAT shout out to Paul at VirtuaPin Cabinets, Inc as well . I met him when I attended MPE last April and asked him if he can build a Williams Indiana Jones cabinet for me, he said no problem. This is a machine that I have wanted in my personal collection for a while now... I took one in on trade, but as most IJ machines the cabinet was very faded and rough. I did get with my deal a new set of cabinet artwork for a cabinet restore, but I felt I wanted to get a new cabinet since I met Paul. I ordered my cabinet from Paul and mailed him the artwork. Once I received the new cabinet from him.... All I can say is this cabinet is BEAUTIFUL, what an eye he has for detail and what a huge difference it makes when restoring a machine.

Paul is doing more work for me as well with some projects that I am working on.

Also, here are some pictures of the new IJ cabinet and the process of doing the swap over.

Thanks,

Steve

Might be too picky but is that the wrong Warning label on FH. Looks outstanding though. Post completed photos.

#26 9 years ago

Ah man, I so want a corvette pin and this just makes me want one more. Those look great. thanks for sharing as I've been wanting to do some restorations down the line and the cabs are something that has me nervous. I may have to source him to do my BOP cab if the playfields ever come out.

Edit - Just checked the site out. $60 extra to install your decals. That's insane! For that cost you'd be stupid not to let them do it if you are buying the cab from them.

#27 9 years ago

Corvette is actually a cool game going all chrome with it should turn out good, and 60 for decal install is stupid cheap

I think it is wrong but no biggie just glad to not have to sand cabinets.

#29 9 years ago

Stephen what was the shipping like and if you order more im interested in piggybacking on to save on it. Im out in medina from time to time.

#30 9 years ago

Got all 3 shipped for $240 might be ordering 2 more from him so it could work if you want one we save a little for 3 as we'll on the price

#31 9 years ago

I should have said "is shipping less if you purchase several" I see 160 to cleveland for 1

#32 9 years ago

Mine were 80 per cabinet then so about half

#33 9 years ago

Great. Need to sell a game to buy the cab but am going to list a bunch in the coming weeks.

#34 9 years ago

What you have for sale ?

#35 9 years ago

How does he install the decals, wet or dry?

Looks nice from the pictures.

#38 9 years ago

I have ordered a MB and FH from him in the past and theses games are beautiful and working! Now he is working on 3 more CV, NNG, CFTBL I should have them by the 11th. Excited! I just love a beautiful cherry game.

#39 9 years ago

I also had a MB cab done by Paul recently that I posted in the start of my restore thread, But here's another pic of it. Outstanding work and customer service!

So what was the price per cab?

Best to check the web site as there are different stages of the cabs. I priced out what I would want and it looks to be just shy of $1K shipped. That's a cab, painted, screened warning and decals installed. While still not cheap it seems to be worth it to me for the time involved. For about another $300 you can get all new hardware on the cab as well from what it looks like. He even has an option to install the ground straps. Really cool business plan and it sounds like he's executing it well.

My only thought now is if it would be worth the cash to have him build the cab, then ship it to someone to clear the cab and then ship it to my house. Clear may be overkill on the decals (if it can even be done right).

If you want one, let me know. I'd like to have one done as well and maybe we could see about a cost savings on multiple orders.

I am close to Detroit so my shipping was cheap if you can get enough to get a larger order I think it will reduce it by alot

I just ordered a new cabinet from Virtual yesterday for the IJ I purchased....yesterday. Glad to Steve's look so great. Looking forward to a like new machine. If I could only find a playfield.

They came both ways. I don't care for the sharp line between the black and natural wood color on the sides, I also prefer MDF cab bottoms.

I agree on the sharp line on the sides I will have the whole side painted to the bottom next time, not sure I care if it's mdf or plywood, as long as it's new.

Mdf will stay nice and smooth, plywood will produce slivers in a few years . MDF looks nicer as far as I am concerned. I have talked with Paul and he said he would build them anyway I wanted them made.

Thanks for sharing your new cabs .

#48 9 years ago

Nice tip I am happy either way as I don't have to do cabinet work anymore

#49 9 years ago

I'll be selling meteor and blackout for sure. I may sell or trade fireball ii, judge dredd, junkyard and black hole as well as one of my motorcycles. Waiting on a few parts for repairs here and there and contemplating what games interest me. Only one I don't want to let go is no fear... love that game. Want to buy a blank shadow cabinet and make a nice one.

#50 9 years ago
Quoted from stephenshane237:

Cabinet work is hard and not many do it right or have the facility to do it in. I like doing cabs because I can control the quality I want for my restorations.

I just got my new DH Sttng cab this week and have not pulled it out of the box to inspect it yet. I have heard good things about Doug , so I am sure it will be fine .

Restoring games with the cab all done ,makes life easy that is for sure.
