The ancestor of pinball, bagatelle may have been introduced back in 1777
but "le flipper" is still alive and well in France!

Come see for yourself at the 3rd annual Festi Flip in St Etienne near Lyon,
the "biggest pinball event in Europe."

Pinball News article for last year's event
    http://www.pinballnews.com/shows/festiflip2013/index.html

With a terrific venue and an unbeatable admission price of €4 for each
day with games on free play, this is an event not to be missed.

    What you can expect:

    - Last year there were 251 pins, this year they're breaking the 300 mark
partly thanks to a new partnership with Avranches Automatique
    - A showcase line-up of Gottlieb Black Hole pinball machines
    - Some very rare games such as a plexiglass invisible pinball version of Canada Dry
    - An added focus on bringing some nice EMs

    - Jack Garnieri himself with a JJP stand and several WOZ pinball machines.
    75th anniversary WOZ Edition perhaps!?
    - Heighway Pinball bringing their Full Throttle game to show off the latest developments
    - Jonathan Joosten from Pinball Magazine, as well as photographer and author Santiago Cuiffo

    - 8 different tournaments, all free.
Including 2 official IFPA tournaments, kids tourneys, as well as foosball and darts contests.
    - A one-man world record attempt for a 28-hour pinball marathon starting friday at 8:30am.
    - An attempt to break the world record of most people playing pinball at once currently standing at 272.
    - The first Festi'broc, a flea market where anyone can buy/sell/trade parts.
    - A room dedicated to the Pinsound audio system with 20 pins fitted
with hi-fi headphones for a complete game play immersion experience.
    - A demo by a French billiards champion
    - And a very special saturday evening surprise program

    Workshops:
    - Virtual pinball simulation pincab building
    - Electronics 101 and 102
    - the ins and outs of EMs
    - playfield restoration

Let these pictures from last year speak for themselves:

As mentioned above Pinball Magazine will be present. Santiago Ciuffo, photographer and author of the PINBALL book (published by Pinball Magazine), will also be there. This will actually be the first time we meet.
Santiago's PINBALL book, posters from his book and Pinball Magazine No. 2 will all be for sale at the show. Santiago will be available to autograph any sold books.

This is gonna be a huge event. Looking forward to it!

FFIII is going to be such a kick a$$ event. Watched the buildup on Friday, not knowing what to expect. Games, games, games! Jack Guarnieri is here, 9 WoZ games, all the latest Sterns, including TWDLE (which did not play yet due to a code error), and evey classic you can think of. This is gonna be a fun weekend

Looking forward to the reports from the show! Is Dutch Pinball there?

    #6 9 years ago

Day 1 is over. I'm impressed! Unofficial count is 315 games and over 2000 visitors...! I'm writing a report. Not sure whether it will go on www.pinball-magazine.com or I send it to Martin for Pinball News. Will take more pics and a video if it will be for Martin.

Great show! I sent my report to Pinball News, although I did not do the walkthrough video. Argentinean photographer Santiago Ciuffo took photos at the show and the first are now published on http://www.pinball-magazine.com/?page_id=2355. I also uploaded them to my Facebook-page. If you like these photos, chances are you'll like Santiago's PINBALL book as well.
