Quoted from Fytr:

Yeah, and why aren't there any late model cars abandoned anywhere. The last time I saw a car on the show that didn't look like it was 15 years old when the zombie apocolypse hit was back when they drove around in that lame Hyundai for a few seasons...

Find some hummers...what happened to the Tank?

#1552 6 years ago

Yeah they should basically be down to push starting old cars and trucks from the 70s at this point with no batteries. Fuel is definitely a problem too. Diesel would be the way to go, but it is even more reliant on good batteries to start. Not to mention tough to push start because of the compression. Most modern cars will kill a battery within 2-3 weeks because of all the stuff that is taking power even when the car isn't running.

#1553 6 years ago

If the show were realistic, they'd all be riding bicycles by now, which would be hilarious. Maybe horses.

#1554 6 years ago

Go somewhere below freezing. Watch the zombies freeze to death without parkas and toques.

Z Nation.

I wish they would take 1 aspect from this show. Zombies change.

They get radiated, and are fast.
The ones at a pharm factory got into speed and viagra.
Stronger ones that dont die so easily.
They even composted zombies and grew Z weed.

More, better zombies, characters coming and dying.....the irst couple seasons.

I've never seen Z Nation. Is it any good? I always assumed it was just a low budget, crappy TWD ripoff.

#1557 6 years ago

I still enjoy the show in a way, but it's hard to look past a lot of things.

My brother missed all of last season except the first episode. He asked if he could skip to this season. Actually... yes.

Quoted from gweempose:

The first season and a half was a riot, IMO.....Tongue and cheek humor over Zombies, Like getting them stoned,
or Zombies having Sex, because they got Viagra.

Worth watching an episode or two is all, its not for everyone.

So it sounds like it takes itself much less seriously than TWD.

Id say its what the Orville did to Star Trek, but not Seth McFarland writing.

So it falls somewhere between TWD and Shaun of the Dead?

Quoted from gweempose:

Much closer to Shaun of the Dead than TWD in seriousness. Worth watching though due to its innovation and craziness. Like a ship bringing in some Chinese military folks or a giant rolling ball of zombies. Better than FTWD.

Quoted from taz:

Better than FTWD.

Anything is better than that piece of crap. I watched the entire first season and never even felt compelled to watch any of the second.

Glad I didn’t, i Just watched like half of the first episode and just didn’t feel interesting to me.

#1566 6 years ago

How many rounds were fired at Carol behind the little pickup truck? 7000?

#1567 6 years ago

How about that car chase? That machine gun must be kind of weak to not knock out a jeep.

#1568 6 years ago

Where was Jerry during all the gunfire how did he survive.

#1569 6 years ago
Quoted from rai:

How about that car chase? That machine gun must be kind of weak to not knock out a jeep.

How did Rick and Darryl find/catch the guys in the vehicle with the guns?

#1570 6 years ago
Quoted from rai:

Lol. They were able to pick off 97 out of 100 people from the kingdom at long range but couldn't take out the jeep. That whole chase was one of the worst action scenes I've ever seen. The final scene with the tiger was definitely a jump the shark moment too.

#1571 6 years ago

How about a tiger not plowing through a bunch of weaker creatures to escape?
How about former human beings having the jaw and finger strength to rip tiger flesh?

I am constantly defending this show to others who have lost interest. I still watch it every week, but it's getting harder and harder to defend it.

I know that Shiva is just a CGI Tiger, but I would have preferred something more realistic during her death. Maybe she broke a leg while fighting them, and that's how they get her. Watching her crouch in a defensive posture rather than busting through that weak group of walkers left a sour taste in my mouth.

I have serious doubts that a gang of roughly 8 walkers could take out a tiger. But that's just me.

sigh. Oh well, at least Negan comes back next week and it looks like the Saviors are going to be doing something.

On a positive note, Jerry was a beast! Loved every scene of his beast mode!

This story is about how individuals respond to this world that they've been thrust into, specifically the leaders. King Ezekiel decided that his best option was to keep doing what he knew how to do best...act. I found his breakdown interesting. It's really the first time we've seen the real Ezekiel.

#1573 6 years ago
Quoted from Xerico:

I'm with you on this. I don't think 8 unarmed people of any physical persuasion could take down that big Tiger.

Okay, I admit that it takes a stretch of reality to believe in a zombified post-apocalyptic world where all governments have long ago fallen and everyone is already infected but still don't turn into zombies unless they're bitten or die. For entertainment purposes I'm cool with that, but as long the film is set on planet Earth it's difficult to totally set aside common sense, varying bullet lethality, Tiger behavior, and other aspects of reality. This season more so than others, TWD is really getting stupid: Ezekiel's hubris in getting his whole army killed, that only the main characters would survive such a massacre, that the weapons which took out that army couldn't take down a small Jeep or the driver at point blank range, that a small pickup truck is going to shield a person from hundreds of 7.62 and 5.56 rounds, that shooting out 2nd story windows is an objective while the enemy's leader and his lieutenants are vulnerable out in the open, etc. Maybe TWD writers and producers should divert the show back into the woods where people can easily stab zombies through their skulls with knives, because they are badly blowing their attempt at military and gangland engagements, not to mention embarrassing the poor Tiger.

#1574 6 years ago

Why did they keep zooming in on the Toxic Waste label? Did is say something important I missed?

It seemed to have eaten the flesh off the zombies. I thought the skulls bursting like chalk was kind of neat. But if that happened it would have also eaten the brain matter and killed the zombies.

I guess they wanted the tiger dead so that came up with that stupid scene. I hope this does not lead to toxic zombies. Leave that to Z-Nation.

As for the rest everyone already called it all. Why does Carol always live? How does a 50 BMG round go through a radiator but not go through the engine block (like they are designed to do) and pin Rick's nuts to Daryl's forehead behind him? Rick getting the Jeep shot but still catching up to the Hummer and the guy letting him jump into the passenger seat (from Indiana Jones or Sharknado?). . . .

The only good thing is maybe the king will drop the Shakespeare and go hide in shame.

#1575 6 years ago
Quoted from Taxman:

I was wondering the same thing. For a while I thought Carol was going to pull out a flare, lighter, or something and set the creek on fire to cover their escape. I figure they killed the Tiger to save on their CGI budget.

I wondered that at first about the toxic waste zombies, but I think it was just meant to be another type of cameo zombies from a 70’s/80’s movie.

Quoted from Taxman:

I'm was thinking this is where they introduce some "new" zombies...they looked a little more cottage cheesy in that gulch but maybe a toxic storyline is in the works. Maybe the Tiger comes back as a toxic super-Tiger?

Gunfire/car chases, whatever, they are always unbelievable and fake as shit in movies/TV. I liked the King's story, thought it was one of the best of the season so far!

#1578 6 years ago

How come they were in the pit scene with the zombies creek bed or whatever and Ezekiel said he’d hold off the zombies while they others escaped but the zombies can get out of the creek bed it’s like a zombie roach motel. So they can all just stand around for half a minute to discuss it while the tiger jumps in and to be honest tigers can jump like 20 feet so it could have just jumped out with no problem. I’d far likely see a tiger getting shot than being overpowered by weak ass zombies.

#1579 6 years ago

That lock and chain was also something else that couldn’t be broken with an ax.

That fat dude should have just tossed Ezekiel over the fence to be honest.

TWD is starting to remind me of WWF where everything is scripted and the fights are so phony.

Anyone remember when it was really good drama like when Carol had to kill the little girl?

#1581 6 years ago

Why can't they at least the get the gun fight scenes like 90% realistic? Every gun battle is becoming one of ridiculousness, and each is more unrealistic thatn the prior gunfight. Where does all the ammo come from? They are in a parking lot that they just ran out into and shoot off thousands of rounds? WTF? Shoot hundreds of rounds into a jeep and no blown tires, engine is fine, not even an oil leak. WTF, again? Rinse, repeat.. That's 15 minutes of each episode it seems.

Shame what sloppy writing has done to this series. Makes me really miss GoT.

Exactly! I’ve never seen a simple lock and chain be such an impediment. I noticed that one of the female zombies they killed while backed up to the fence had a holstered pistol as well, but they didn’t notice. Kind of like they didn’t notice the towers where snipers could hang out. I can’t believe that axe boy doesn’t also carry a pistol. If I was in that world I’d have shoulder and hip pistols and ankle ones to boot, not to mention a 22LR rifle for plinking zombies in the head and WWZ-like magazines taped around my arms. Rosita ain’t got sh&t on what I’d carry.

#1583 6 years ago

This show is becoming a bore fest. How many more monologues and useless speeches do we need to endure? It's so obvious they are stretching the time out. This so called war is going to last 16 episodes??? Oh man.

Exactly! It looked like at least one guy was firing an AK. I’ve seen 7.62 rounds fired into old dead vehicles. They go all the way through, unless maybe an engine deflection. That wheel she hid behind ‘might’ have protected her for the width of the brake system, but that’s less than half of the width of the tire.

Excellent points.

Not to mention that a very intelligent character like Carol would have simply shot out the tires of the vehicle (hummer?) with the weapons.

Once she had the two guys pinned, she could have put multiple bullets into the tires and effectively stopped them in their tracks from fleeing. And an intelligent fighter like Carol would have done just that.

At this point they're counting on our emotional attachments to the characters to keep us watching, however outlandish the battle scenes get.

Still, if we're willing to swallow this zombie nonsense, we shouldn't be surprised by anything, really.

I suspect he may have gotten sick from the zombie guts... Negan mentioned it happened in that scene.

#1593 6 years ago

I am also wondering about Eugene. Is he going to continue to save his skin with Negan? Turn in Dwight?

He may want Gabriel dead since he knows Eugene is not a doctor but a fraud. But even though he knows Dwight is a traitor he did not turn him in. The last threat from Negan and everything falling apart might bring him back.

Scene from next week is another deal with the garbage pail kids. Rick is so stupid we see where Coral gets it from. So now they lose dynamite and the 50 cal because he is in a life saving mode. I'm glad Daryl smacked him.

So, another helicopter. The last one ended up being those guys the Governor killed. I wonder what this is foreshadowing.

#1594 6 years ago

Last night's episode was the only one I've enjoyed so far this season.

Much better character driven scenes instead of non-stop gunfights.

It was also interesting to see more from Negan and the Savior's perspective.

I'd talked to a friend recently about how Rick likes to think he's so much better from a moral perspective than Negan, but had this series started with us following Negan from the outset as the main protagonist, Rick would definitely seem like the villain.

After last nights episode, i think im now rooting for Negan

Me too. At least Negan’s consistent. Rick is all over the place, Morgan too. Jesus insisting on bringing back 30 killers as prisoners, to I can only guess turn the Hilltop into Guantanamo Bay, is also clueless. Besides Carol and Darryl, they all deserve to die.

#1597 6 years ago

Rick and Daryl were in death fight but once the dynamite blows up they were best buds again.

Was funny when Rick said choke holds are illegal.

#1598 6 years ago

At least last night's episode was not filled with more speeches. This is how we live.....this is our life now.....we have to make it what we want it to be....there is no going back....we have to find a way to get along. Yada yada yawn. Kill them all.

And who's loading the ammo now that everyone has every rifle firing "full auto".
And never dropped a spent cartridge on the ground... it's amazing.
