Quoted from o-din:

Prior to that he taught us about gun safety on Alfred Hitchcock's "Bang You're Dead".

I loved that they gave him a cameo in the New Lost in Space on Netflix, even better that that they made him Dr. Smith

Quoted from radial_head:The only set of episodes from the series I'm really not familiar with is the 4th season when they switched to hour long episodes. Really disrupted their rhythm. Anybody have any favorites from that stretch of episodes?

There are several good ones, you just have to be in the mood for the full hour.

"Mute" Starring an unknown actress named Ann Jillian.

"One For the Angels' Damn is this one good.

Quoted from mark532011:

I can't remember the name but I liked the one where the child dissapeared and there was a interdimensional hole in the wall of the bedroom and they had to go through to get him.. special effects were weak but I really liked the story and it has been used many times since

Perhaps the Imagination land episodes of South Park took a que.

#110 1 year ago

All great. Most of my favorites were mentioned I think.

The Monsters are due on on Maple street.

So many great ones to choose from. Amongst the best, imho, are:

Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up
To Serve Man
Eye of the Beholder
People are Alike All Over
Five Characters in Search of an Exit
Nightmare at 20,000 Feet
Nick of Time

So many fans of “five characters.”

Just could not get into that one. Most boring episode ever with the lamest payoff?

By far the worst of the half dozen or so “turns out they are a child’s plaything” episodes.

Not a great plot device but I think this one is great due to the ensemble casting of the group. Very fun to watch.

I remember always really liking The Masks Season 5 Episode 25 even though it uses the same stylings and has generally worse plot devices and less thrilling payoffs than The Eye Of The Beholder.

Yeah that’s a killer episode.

Great writing is for the ages, TZ, just gets better.
Morality tales, and warnings of mans failings, more relevant than ever.

Season 1. Ep. 15. I shot an arrow into the air.
My friends and I would argue, would Gordo Cooper, Pete Conrad, Alan Shepard, Gus Grisom, or Dave Scott start killing each other if they thought they were marooned?

The Twilight Zone astronaut program had really low standards for entry.

Welcome back, OP!

Can anyone guess which episode this quote is in?

“Take what you get and you live with it. Sometimes it’s sweet frosting, nice gravy. Sometimes it’s sour, goes down hard. But you live with it, Joey.”

#125 1 year ago

I'll second "The Obsolete Man" and add one I haven't seen here so far, "The Jeopardy Room." Always liked Martin Landau, too. Hey, will you answer that for me?

#126 1 year ago

I watched one the other night that I had never seen before. “The 30 fathom grave”

It’s funny, I knew pretty quickly what the story was (the dead calling for their buddy who was still alive) but it was still enjoyable and I was wondering how many subsequent plots based themselves on this concept which is an old one now but was quite shocking in 1963 tv I suspect

I just caught "A World of His Own" again. The ending is especially fun, with not just one twist, but a second one with the fourth wall coming down as Rod Serling becomes part of the show. I forgot that part: are there other episodes where this happens?

"Her name... is Mary", ha, good stuff...

I always laugh at this Seinfeld clip referencing the Twilight Zone.

Quoted from HighVoltage:

But have to mention, I like the series "One Step Beyond" even better as the stories are based on real events. Unfortunately this one is rarely on TV anymore.

Decades is having a "One Step Beyond" marathon right now. If you like Twilight Zone, I highly recommend checking it out.

"The amazing drama you're about to see is a matter of human record. You may believe it or not. But the real people who lived this story, they believe it, they know. They took that one step beyond." - John Newland

Remember amazing stories?
I loved the ww2 episode “the mission” with the guy stuck in the belly turret of the plane with no landing gear. Awesome episode

So I don't know the episodes that well and had to look it up. Sounds like Mr. Bevis made the right choice. Except for the Zither Music

Season 3, Episode 37 The Changing of the Guard. I grew up watching the Halloween movies and watching Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence) chase around Michael Meyers. My jaw dropped when I saw the much younger him playing a professor questioning his life after his forced retirement. Seeing his past students appear still gets me.
