I'd put the caveat out there of no photoshop, but that's just me.

Your favorite artist, example, and WHY.

    Mine:

Kevin O'Connor - (example, BG for Bally Strikes and Spares, MB playfield) - I've always enjoyed Kevin's clear lines and easy to read artwork.

Art Stenholm I like the way he fits a lot of depth into his backglasses and we have the same taste in women.

    #3 2 years ago

Dick white. Great name, and a lot of great art. Flip flop, nip it, 4 million b.c., etc

    #4 2 years ago

John Youssi , example look at some of https://pinside.com/pinball/machine/john-youssi because his art is amazing.

    Gordon Morison.

I love his comic book style, outrageously rich colors, and all the detail that goes into his work.

    Quoted from 2manypins:

    Can you post a poll?

Sure, if I can get all the artists and not forget someone. I might try - but I want to see the artwork too, since I am certain there's a lot to see and learn.

I never knew his name, but he love to draw the women right, with those iconic button noses.

Christian Marche - versatile style and pointy people.
Contantino Mitchell - I think his early stuff is better than his later games, but that may have been driven by management rather than his choices.

    #10 2 years ago

    Dave Christensen and Dirty Donny

    I miss mirrored backglasses.

One of my favorites is Xenon

    Sorcerer

    Black Knight

Mitchell? really? which titles? There are a few that his name is on, but his work was limited.. i.e., Time Fantasy is not really_ Mitchell IMO.

It's a sin that Parker has not been mentioned yet.... Great style, always a bit of humour shoehorned into a fantastic package.

I'd have to go with Morison - for "Strange World" alone, but considering that whole amazing body of work - he's my guy. Dave Christensen would be my second - Old Chicago!

Truly a classic from Pam Erickson.

    Sorcerer (resized).jpgSorcerer (resized).jpg

    #18 2 years ago

Top 3 would have to be Gordon Morrison, Greg Freres and John Youssi... but there's a lot of other close runner-ups !

Python Anghelo needs a spot in this thread as well. Nobody integrated the artwork with the game like him...

Funny you mention photoshop.. that would probably be the only art from O'Connor that didn't age as well as the rest of his amazing portfolio.

So many classic art to choose from, but I have to throw out there Brian Allen as one of the best new ones out there. His alternate art pieces for some of the Bally/Williams pins is starting to turn heads.
