Don't get me wrong, the soundtrack for our new game is awesome, but I do feel some real gems got left on the cutting room floor. They only had room for so many...............

    #2 6 years ago

I think if we're just choosing a starting song anyway, why not just include the entire songbook....or an outlet I can plug my iPod into with all the Napstered Metallica!

I am disappointed there's no Wherever I May Roam and also would have liked Until It Sleeps and Unforgiven II in there.

    Cheers!
    Adam.

My favorite songs that I think would complement the gameplay well are Blackened, Damage Inc, Metal Militia, Four Horsemen, and of course And Justice For All and Ride the Lightning.

Personal faves include Thing That Should Not Be, Disposable Heroes, Sanitarium, Orion, Call of Ktulu etc but I don't think any of those would work all that well in the game.

Is For Whom The Bell Tolls in the game?

That's my favorite Metallica song, but I don't think I'd listen to it on purpose.

    #6 6 years ago

Hands down Blackened for me. Whiplash would have been nice also.

    #7 6 years ago

    Harvester of Sorrow

Your in luck! Now we're going to tie you up and make you listen to it over and over and over.

Sweet! Being tied up sounds like a good time!

Shortest Straw as been pulled for you....

    #11 6 years ago

Of the 12 songs, I think One, The Unforgiven, and Nothing Else Matters are too slow. If I could choose, I would replace those three with any three of the following:

    I Disappear
    Ride the Lightning
    The Shortest Straw
    Jump in the Fire
    Whiplash
    Metal Militia
    Am I Evil?
    Escape
    ...And Justice for All
    Eye of the Beholder
    Harvester of Sorrow
    The Day That Never Comes
    All Nightmare Long
    Hit the Lights

Since you threw a cover song in there, I'll ad a few more done well by Metallica.

    Blitzkrieg
    Last Caress/Green Hell
    Stone Cold Crazy
    So What
Crash Course in Brain Surgery and Breadfan (both Budgie songs).
    Helpless

    Last caress?

    #14 6 years ago

I know I will take some shit for these two, but................

    Hero of the Day
    Whiskey in the Jar

Hero of the day from Load.

Shirley Bassey or Barbra Striesand could cover this tune and make it sound good.

    Stone Cold Crazy

    This cover makes me cry...

And not for any good reasons....

whiskey in the jar the best song no one says hands down.

No leaf clover would have been nice!

    #21 6 years ago

The rest of the Master of Puppets album, but especially Sanitarium, Thing That Should Not Be, and Orion. If I paid for a MOPLE, I would want the whole MOP album available to me. But since I'm "slumming" with a Pro, I won't complain.

You nailed it!!! Whiplash is by far my fave Metallica song, I mean its their damn anthem!! Should have been included for sure, but overall I am happy with what they went with..

    #24 6 years ago

Without a doubt, Harvester of Sorrow.

No votes yet for Dyers Eve? Lars pounding out the double bass drum with an external sub attached would be killer.

Yes I know it's a remake but it's cool as hell the way they do it

WTF is up with all the love for bad Load/Reload songs, Whiskey in the Jar and I Disappear? Ick!

    Am I evil
    Breadfan
    Harvester of Sorrow

    Geeee's

TO LIVE IS TO DIE, BLEEDING ME, WHEREVER I MAY ROAM-

    total bummer.

    #35 6 years ago

Orion. You could have a two part wizard mode like TOTAN; once the second part of the wizard mode begins, you get the spacey interlude from Orion going. Think about it, cliff's electric bass solos would be a great addition to the game.

    Forgot wherever I may Roam

I Disappear isn't on either of those albums...just sayin'

    #38 6 years ago

Ahhhh yes, no question. Harvester of Sorrow should have been in there!!!!! We just need to be able to mod the Stern code so we can take out songs and put out own in there.

I'd rather hear Whiskey while playing than Nothing Else Matters. NEM is a great song, but the tempo isn't right for pinball. It's almost a blues song. Whiskey definitely isn't one of their greatest songs, but at least is has the right tempo for pinball. As mentioned above, The Unforgiven is also too slow.

    #40 6 years ago

Frayed ends of sanity (pinball collectors theme song)
    The four horsemen

    #41 6 years ago

Not every song in the game should sound like a hurry-up. I like the laid-back tunes.

    #42 6 years ago

    Whiplash
    Four Horseman
    Am i evil
    All nightmare long

Hoping for some bonus tracks !

    #43 6 years ago

Exactly, when you have an electric chair multiball don't you think it would have been better to play Ride The Lightning instead of Creeping Death? Same for the scale tip thing, should be ...and Justice For All. Still really like the play so far but I agree that could have picked better songs for each mode. My opinion of course.

Right on!!!!.............It's not about the best songs, it's about the songs that are best for a pinball machine and temp is key for that.

    Breadfan and Blackened by far...

    #46 6 years ago

I'm surprised nobody (including Stern) thought there should be something from Death Magnetic. Was I the only one who liked the album? (The properly mastered version ripped from Guitar Hero, of course...)

The End of the Line is from DM, and it's in the game.

    #48 6 years ago

Ah, I would have picked a different track. Forgot about that one.

    #49 6 years ago

    Sanitarium
    ...and Justice for All
    Ride the Lightning
    Whiskey In the Jar

    #50 6 years ago

    All Nightmare Long
    Dyers Eve
    Blackened
    Damage Inc.
    My Apocalypse

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the songs in the game. It could certainly be much, much worse.
