    Some high rated Australian movies.

    1. True story about a school kidnapping that happened down here back in the '70s.

    2. If you can make it past the sensory shock of the first ten minutes the rest of it is hilarious.

    3. War crime courtroom drama based on Australian military involvement during the Boer War.

    Quoted from xsvtoys:

How about The Castle, how is that one considered by the Australians? I remember watching it and it was pretty darn funny. I want to watch it again but Netflix doesn’t have it currently.

Definitely top 5 and very well known and regarded down here so I tried to pick some more obscure but highly rated titles that may not have had an international release.

I heard The Castle overseas distributors had to overdub some of the lines to fit in with an international audience as the punchlines were a bit too Aussie-centric?

    e.g.
    What's for dinner tonight?

    Australia: Rissoles.

    USA: Meatloaf.

Elliot Gould dies and in order to prevent his soul from a lifetime of damnation in Hell being subject to Bill Cosby pudding memes agrees to corrupt the souls of three random children in order to save his own.

A Faustian lighthearted comedy from the mouse that roared.
