Quoted from dos_reboot:The Blue Thunder post reminded me of another Roy Scheider movie.
From an Elmore Leonard book. John Glover plays a great villain here!
[quoted image]
Another Roy Schneider movie. Not obscure by any means, but not nearly as popular as its predecessor.
I worked in a theatre when this came out. We were the only house capable of playing 70mm films. We had 6-channel surround running through Klipsch Heresy’s and huge Klipsch theatre speakers behind the screen.
The projectionist liked to set the volume at just over 100dB, so when Hal said, “3....2....1....ignition.....full thrust” and the camera cut to the rocket engines at full thrust it really put you back in your seat!

Ah yes, The Toxic Avenger. Fun movie. Saw it in the theatre before they censored the scene where his blind girlfriend makes him a sandwich and puts Drano on it, which is why he tosses it out the window.
Also I can’t remember if they censored the scene where Toxie pinches the bad guy’s hands in the fryer basket and you get to watch as the bubbling oil burns his hands to a crisp.
Quoted from jrpinball:Scheider, not Schneider.
Here's another great one.[quoted image]
Damn auto-correct!

And to go with Kentucky Fried Movie and Groove Tube....

Quoted from Rascal_H:I like movies with robots.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
You like robots....I'm surprised you didn't mention this one.
robot_jox_ver2 (resized).jpgQuoted from starfighter:" He says you smell like hamburgers"
"He moves like a baboon..... with two clubbed feet"
Quoted from CrazyLevi:The Car is horrible!
Somewhat obscure for a reason.
The Car reminds me of this one.

Loved working in a video store and hearing the comments from people who had never seen Rocky Horror before saying they didn’t understand why it was so popular.
Since it’s a midnight movie in theatres everywhere, it’s hardly obscure.
Quoted from o-din:Not certain, but I think that weekend Rocky Horror thing started right here. It wasn't long after the movie's release. Total freak show, man.
I think Rotordave already covered Zardoz, so I don't need to go there.[quoted image]
“ALEIN”??? OMG!!!
Quoted from TecumsehPlissken:Tawny Kitaen never looked better than she did in this movie[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
She did look great back then. But now I don't know what's been lifted more, her face or her boobs.
Quoted from barakandl:[quoted image]
Wow never noticed it before. The twin towers shot on Meteor is eerie.
Quoted from mark532011:Haha, I didn’t know the barbarian brothers made a baby sitter movie. I loved them in “the barbarians” great movie. It starts pretty serious with the brothers separated at birth, one was beaten all his life by a man in a red mask, the other by a man in a blue mask. They were each given the others mask and told to “get their revenge” just as a sport for rich people.
Then It starts not taking itself seriously and by the end they climb inside a dragons body and start punching its internal organs....you have to see it to believe it[quoted image]
Don't forget Double Trouble, my favorite of the bunch, although probably the least obscure.
The scene where he handcuffs his brother to the steering wheel and goes into the building to catch the bad guys, where he eventually runs into his brother who freed himself and ran inside to help. Then the two of them chase the fleeing bad guys, run outside and jump in the car in hot pursuit.... Priceless.
