I found out that Shout! Factory has it on Blu-Ray. I'm going to have to order a copy.

I got the Shout! Factory Blu Ray on Thursday! Look forward to watching it over the weekend.

I was too young to know how obscure or not this was when it came out in 1986, but I've watched this at least 5 times, the last 2 in the past 2 weeks with my 7 year old (skipping over the "love scene" of course)

This is Josh Brolin, and he does much of his own "non-trick" skating.

You guys remember these? Both were made-for-TV movies, both scared the living shit out of me as a wee lad.

Did you see the sequel to the Vodoo Doll one? Trilogy of Terror II

Starts out right after the cops take her away.

Anything Lucio fulci did. especially city of the dead, zombie and the beyond.

I have seen The Mechanic the 70's one still haven't seen the remake. I always remember a The Critic episode with Charles Bronson in Deathwish 8 in a hospital bed saying I wash I was dead over and over. I miss that series.

The early films with James woods were something I looked for in the video boom.

Now that I am thinking about it.

I like James woods overall. Like able. The way he pulled off the boyfriend in casino.

    #965 74 days ago

I'll get back on track. Casino - not obscure, neither is james woods.

    How about bestseller?

    Including the late Brian denehy.

    I still stand by "cop"

Not my favorite and it really stinks if you have seen it. But it is obscure. Plan 9 From Outerspace

I watched the original not long ago. It is a classic from a previous era. It is a great movie overall, but the pace will be far too slow for a modern audience. Just look at how long the opening scene goes. That whole sequence would take about 22 seconds to execute in a 2020 movie. Like TheLaw said, one of the greatest movie endings ever.

The remake is everything you would expect if you translated the story to the current era, and popped in Statham instead of Bronson - full of fast action and fights and explosions and noise and so on. In other words, it sucks.

All you need to know...White Line Fever...saw it on the screen when it came out and I ALWAYS remember it.

Sorry had to add this ALL TIME favorite: Heavy Metal! Both movie and music!

Does anyone remember this one? I haven't seen it since way back when it came out. I remember it was pretty good, and Richard Gere was particularly nasty in this one as the bad guy. Think I'll watch it again.

    One of my all-time faves...

    Wild In The Streets (1968)

Plot: The youth are taking over. Everyone over 30 must report to LSD concentration camps!!!!

    Cast:

    Shelley Winters as Mrs. Flatow

    Christopher Jones as Max Frost

    Diane Varsi as Salley Leroy

    Hal Holbrook as Sen. Fergus

    Ed Begley as Sen. Allbright

    A very-young Richard Pryor as Stanley X.

Just saw WLF on Youtube. Apparently they have a lot of free movies now.

I can't possibly count the number of times I've seen HM since it came out. First time was in the theater and I had my grandfather take me since I was only 14. He wasn't pleased at the first animated sex scene. "What the hell is this??!"

'Welcome to Blood City', 1977, with Jack Palance, Samantha Eggar and Keir Dullea.

I was surprised by this one, in a good way, after watching it on YouTube yesterday. If you liked the Westworld movies (1973's Westworld and 1976's Futureworld), then this might prove both entertaining and somewhat thought provoking. I really liked the role played by Jack Palance, and typically, he seems to excel in his bad guy / yet good guy portrayal here. The movie also stars the ever lovely Samantha Eggar, where she plays a parallel good girl / bad girl role.
Welcome to Blood City (resized).jpgAlso, there was a short lived 1980 TV series, 'Beyond Westworld,' where the forever interesting Cassandra Peterson made an appearance!

Kind of a change of pace and also "A Christmas Story" can get scary too if you watch it enough.

I liked him in "Soylent Green" with that saying being screamed "Soylent Green is people!!!"

The wife and I watched this last knight cause of your post and other comments about the director's future movies. Really bad acting but Im sure if I saw it as a kid it would scare the crap out of me. Soundtrack is early synths and really freaky.
    Thanks for suggesting.

Michael Collins is a fantastic movie, based on real events it depicts the story of how Ireland got to be divided into north and south. Total history lesson.
