I love the convenience of digital music and having my entire collection instantly available and also the access to streaming, but the one thing I do miss about the old days are album covers.

What are some of your favorite album covers?

I changed my avatar to one of my favorites, ELP's Brain Salad Surgery. Great H. R. Giger artwork, a classic!

ELP was great in general. The music industry likes to pretend the Prog never existed. My favorite album and album cover are both the same-- The Beatles Revolver.

Anything made by Rodger Dean. He lost his lawsuit against the movie Avatar, but it is very clear they got their vision for the film from him. The Tales from Topographic Oceans is my favorite. Enjoy!

A lot of good ones so far. Pretty much anything by Hypnosis was good.

My brother is 10 years older than I am, so these are some of my favorites I remember from some of his albums.

The Cars had a lot of good ones. Here's another one I love.

The Stones had some great covers. One was Sticky Fingers that had a real zipper on it. Can't get that on the CD.

I loved painting album covers on my denim jackets back in high school (and made some money on it too). Still have this Maiden "Purgatory" painted on a jacket in 1983 packed away somewhere.

I like a lot of journey's covers. Trial by fire was an awesome one. That Lords of acid one up there would make a great AC/DC translite.

The Zep cover for "In Through The Out Door" was a hint. The inner sleeve was white background with a black line drawing. If you wiped it with a damp cloth colors would come forth. (No drugs required.) Some of their best work IMHO. I still listen to that one and this one front to back.

In Through the Out Door, came in a brown paper sleeve. The photo cover had different angles of the same scene. Each cover was from the view of the person in the room. It was kind of cool.
