Installed the Altek boards and the game fired right up! Played the hell out of it this past weekend.
Anyone have recommendations for color matches/ brands of paint for a fathom cabinet restoration? Thank you for any help you can provide.
Quoted from Tuna_Delight:Nice! Are those Bally flippers? I just switched the blue Williams flippers, that had been installed on my restored Fathom, to genuine Bally flippers, but didn't find a blue color choice.
yeah available at planetary pinball, at least that was where I had gotten them
So have an interesting fathom issue was hoping someone here could help me with. My game was just restored it is beautiful and plays amazing. I just noticed one issue though. When I lock a ball in the blue lock (top right corner) as soon as I press the right flipper button the first inline drop target (3x) registers.....it does not drop...Directly shooting the target will drop it and then shooting the 4x and 5x everything behaves normally. If I press that flipper button and then shoot the left side drop targets it will drop the 4x thinking the 3x is already dropped. Any clue? It only seems to happen when the saucer switch and then right flipper button is activated that this happens.
Can I get some detailed pictures of the right flipper switches in the cabinet from some owners, I think I have narrowed down my issue to that wiring. Thank you. -Tommy
Quoted from Thrillhouse:Upper right flipper, let me know if you need more

Thank you!
I actually need he flipper switch that is actuated by the right flipper button on the lower cabinet side.
Quoted from Thrillhouse:Reading comprehension is obviously not my strong suit. How about these? Out of curiosity what is the issue your having?

Thank you! An incredibly odd switch matrix issue. If ball locked in top saucer and top blue left side drop target is down flipper button on right causes issues. First flip cause 3x blue (1st blue in-line drop) to register but not drop. Subsequent flips register the star rollover just before the blue saucer causing you to score 50,000 points with every flip of the right flipper at that point. Locking a ball in the green saucer then stops the behavior during play. We discovered that bending the lane change switch on that cabinet side so it can’t be activated eliminated the problem. We tried a new diode in the spot and problem remained so I suspect mine may be wired incorrectly or diode is on wrong switch leads. If you could confirm he wire colors the diode is attached too and the band direction I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you.
Quoted from Thrillhouse:That is a strange one. Here's some more pics. The top leaf in the stack is the white/red wire with the unbanded side of the diode attached to it. The banded side of the diode connects to the 3rd leaf blade on the bottom with the brown/white wire in the middle.

Thank you so much!

Just for future reference for anyone my red white wire was soldered to wrong place and the diode was backwards so I had multiple things wrong. Game now appears to be playing 100% and I’m thrilled!
Quoted from Troutfarm:I have not investigated much but my left drop bank is not reseting once its knocked down during a ball. On the following ball it resets as it should. any ideas?
One or more of your drop targets is likely not registering as being down. It is also probably impacting the spotted drop down on locked balls to the corresponding color. I would take the glass of and knock down each target 1 at a time until you find one that doesn't score. If they all score then the issue is something else.
