Fathom - Jumper Setting Confusion

Been trying to get fathom to work. I can't even get it to boot correctly with the ipdb roms.

First off - All my MPU's are jumpered for 2732s using these settings

1. Jump E4 to E13a
2. Jump E12 to GND (large GND trace next to the ROM sockets, left of E12)
3. Jump E7 to E8
4. Jump E10 to E11
5. Jump E31 to E32
6. Jump E16a to E29 (on -133 "E16 to E29")
7. Jump E33 to E35

So initially I was convinced I had board problems with my fathom and that was the reason that I wasn't able to able to get it to boot correctly.

I'd burn the rom set on 2732's and it would act crazy on startup (fire incorrect solenoids etc etc). Then I tried burning a 2nd set of roms = same thing. Then I tried those roms in a different working board and got the same thing. If I stuck my altek fathom it works fine.

In looking at the listed jumper settings that are included with the fathom roms - they're different than the jumper settings i see on pinwiki, bally repair guides etc.

What I see listed everywhere -

1. Jump E4 to E13a
2. Jump E12 to GND (large GND trace next to the ROM sockets, left of E12)
3. Jump E7 to E8
4. Jump E10 to E11
5. Jump E31 to E32
6. Jump E16a to E29 (on -133 "E16 to E29")
7. Jump E33 to E35

Listed in the fathom rom i DL'd from IPDB -

842-08_2.732 - U2 for CPU, 2732 [24FC]
720-53_6.732 - U6 for CPU, 2732 [1EFC]

4-13A
7-8
9-12
10-11
16A-29
31-32
33-35

Main difference between the 2 sets so far as i can tell is E12 to GND on the universal/pinwiki 2732 settings and 9-12 on the one that came w/ fathom roms.

Do the rom files need to be modified in order to work with the universal 2732 settings?

E9 is a11

E12 goes to u2 p18 which is generally a chip select pin.

Use the pinwiki jumpers. E12 to ground. Nothing special here.

The first list of jumper settings in your post is correct.

If you're moving the new ROMs into a known good board and getting strange behavior, I would suspect something is wrong with your EPROMs, the ROM images, or the way they were burned. Try putting a known good set of EPROMs into your Fathom MPU and see what happens.

So after swapping a bunch of ROM/MPU combinations around I've found that 1 out of my 4, -35's appears to work in my Fathom with the fathom ROMS.

The other 3 boards work fine in my other games, but do not work in fathom - even with the exact same set of roms that are in board that works in Fathom. Weird.

Have you made all of the recommended upgrades to the solenoid driver board? Connectors rebuilt?

There's an altek SDB installed - I've decided I'm going to replace the header pins and eprom sockets on all my MPU's and do the female pins on Fathoms MPU and SDB connectors to rule them out.
