Also if the slam switch(es) inside the coin door and elsewhere in the cabinet flick closed at any point while the reset is taking place, you would see the same score reset and then game over. So verify those switches are not under-gapped. What you are seeing with the relays might rule these slam switches out but doesn't hurt to give them a look.
