JL Gothrocks, a dead ringer for Fred Flintstone who plays some flipperless machine with just a bunch of gobbleholes and holes in the head too (maybe small birds or dinosaurs come out of the holes to tell you your points when you score and complain about the rough job they have?)

Is that Lee Majors in the background?
Quoted from Luzur:But...why 2 of them?
... is what his wife probably said too when they showed up at the door
Quoted from pascal-pinball:Nathan Fillion (Castle) playing Iron Man in the Comic Sans bar in Ghent (Belgium)
Picture from yesterday...
i think you mean Nathan Fillion (Firefly).

yes, that's the same person.
I used to own this game. One of a kind. Found in an antique shop near Hollywood. Donated to the Pacific Pinball Museum a few years ago. Not sure if they have it up yet. Good pinball movie. "The Time Of Your Life" with James Cagney.
Quoted from pascal-pinball:yes, that's the same person.
i'm aware of that. my point is Castle is a mediocre crime drama while Firefly is one of the greatest television shows of all time.

When Willie finally lights up the game, and rolls it, the back box moves to allow for effects, it even shoots fireworks out of the backbox. Willie was played by Richard Erdman, the Pinball Machine Maniac, also in the film was James Cagney, William Bendix and Wayne Morris.

Plus, two American flags pop out of each side of the head and wave back and forth. There were only small fragments of the flags left when I got it but I was able to find new right size flags and they were, correct for the time the movie was made, 48 star flags.
Richard Erdman is still alive and acting. I talked with him a few times on the phone about the movie and game. He was very helpful and a super nice guy.

I've watched the movie twice, remembered the back glass moving, and that link you posted was very helpful. Tried to freeze a still frame, off the internet of the fireworks and flags, but it always turned out to blurry. That pinball machine going off is kind of neat, thinking that this was done, just for a prop in a movie, way back in 1948.

Here's a link to the scene. Starts about 1:17:50.

I knew that was where you were going.
Firefly was amazing! And Serenity was under-appreciated ... should have made more money and launched a franchise.
That said, I understand why Nathan Fillion will known more Castle, it's only natural: 8 seasons of Castle vs 1 season of Firefly.
A Firefly pin would be so cool!

I know this is an old post but I haven't been out in PA long. Is there a pinball show in Hershey that I should know about?
Quoted from spfxted:Dennis, thanks for the great info about that photo and machine! Fantastic!!
You're welcome.
Still looking for one of the 6 giant promotional games that were made for theater lobbies showing the flick. One was here in St. Louis at the Fox Theater.
Most likely they all went to the landfill. I once had a crazy idea of actually having one built. Any carpenters out there willing to take on the project? ;_)

We have to go the crappy town where I'm the hero.
Quoted from Minneapolispin:I was watching a YouTube video of a Prince's Paisley Park. Looks like it was filmed in the late 80's or early 90's. There's a quick shot of a little arcade and there are are couple pins in the background. Can anyone tell the title?
That's an Eight Ball Deluxe.
I wasn't able to screen capture fast enough, but there appeared to be at least 2 other games to the left of the Eight Ball. I recently visited Paisley and they brought up the fact that he used to keep a game room there. That space now has a big grand piano and some chairs. It's right outside the door of this massive sound stage.
Quoted from Minneapolispin:What pin is that behind Adam Carolla's shoulder -Harlem Globetrotters? I know this is at his podcast studio.
that would be my guess
Quoted from gmkalos:Richard Kiel aka "JAWS" destroying a Space Invaders from the 1981 movie So Fine...because he tilted it lol!
Space Invaders is the easy one and already documents on Pin Geek. But look in the back of the first picture. The one on the left is a Bally Star Trek. I think the top of the backglass and the era of the other games makes it a Sharpshooter.

Here's a link to the movie. The pinball scene starts about 30:30 and is mixed in with another scene. Ends about 34:21.

Good Movie came from it too...Serenity
I wanted to change my avatar so badlly right there with him huffing that widebody on his shoulder. And hands down the fumiest scene it the cutaway from his face to the alien grinning on the bg haha

Yes, it is a Harlem Globetrotters.
